OP Sister Chapter 533: The Mysterious Gate

-----

“Wait…”

I checked my Inventory, finding a mass of black miasma resonating with my gauntlet and its “eye.”

Yes, he left me this miasma for a reason.

He had mentioned the “Gate” where Fenrir was bound.

-----

[The Seamless Abyss’ Miasma (??? Rank)]

An incredibly corrosive Miasma corroded by the endless appendages of a Void Ruler.

It is highly flammable and, once it touches something the Void Ruler deems unworthy, begins burning them and draining their energies rapidly. It can also break all seals.

It cannot be processed.

No further information can be discerned at the System’s current level.

-----

I suppose it’s finally time to use this strange substance.

But what exactly awaits beyond that Gate to be unsealed?

What’s happening there…

And what connection does my brother from the original timeline have with it?

Did something different occur compared to the original timeline?

Hm…

Well, there’s no point dwelling on it.

“Kevin! Wake up already! It’s nearly 1 PM!”

Henrietta knocked on the door of the room where Kevin was staying.

Slowly, he woke and opened the door, looking exhausted.

“Aaahh… okay, okay… I heard you the first time…! Jesus…”

He trudged to the bathroom without greeting us.

Henrietta sighed, crossing her arms.

“Sorry about that. He can be a bit rude in the mornings,” she apologized.

“Don’t worry, Henrietta, it’s fine,” I said.

My brother decided to take it easy for now, so for the next three days, we planned to rest and prepare for the dungeon visit.

After breakfast, Baihe wanted to train with me, and Kevin joined in. We went underground to the training area my brother had and began sparring.

I asked both to face me together, as it wouldn’t be fair otherwise.

“Come on, attack me like you’re trying to kill me.”

“Isn’t that too extreme?!” Kevin asked.

“Okay!” Baihe nodded.

While Kevin hesitated and did nothing, Baihe conjured dozens of magic circles. I saw small dragon heads made of ice bombard me with icy beams.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

I swiftly evaded using Cloud Step, surprising them both as they watched me glide effortlessly through the air with no energy cost.

“What is that technique?!” Kevin asked.

“Kevin! Don’t just stare! She’s behind you!” Baihe warned, forming an ice wall behind him.

However, it was too weak!

Heh.

BOOOM!

With a single punch, a sharp, blade-like aura erupted from my fist.

Gram wasn’t just a sword I could summon; it flowed freely through my body.

A simple palm strike now carried the force of a sharp sword cut.

“A-Ahhh! Anna, wait! Calm down!”

Kevin saw a strand of his hair sliced off, panicking.

“What’s wrong? Have you grown softer now? What happened to the boy who kept challenging me before?” I teased him.

“Tch!” Kevin clicked his tongue, quickly focusing. “Fine!”

His eyes glowed with divine light as his golden spear radiated divine brilliance.

Suddenly, a pair of Valkyrie wings sprouted from his back, propelling him toward me.

His spear reached me in an instant, as if he had become light itself for a moment.

“Heh…! Not bad!”

BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!

We clashed.

His spear was incredibly fast and razor-sharp.

Almost unrecognizable compared to his past self!

He had grown far more than I expected!

However.

I swung my palms forward, my Aura surged, and dozens of starlight blades materialized.

“W-Wha…?”

CLAAASH!

His spear was completely countered as the blades formed a shield and then pushed forward, slicing through his armor.

He fell to the floor but slowly stood back up.

At the same time, Baihe completed another spell. The ground beneath me trembled, and a massive surge of ice enveloped me completely.

“Caught you!”

Baihe smiled, celebrating.

“Not bad.”

BOOOM!

With a burst of my Aura, the ice shattered into fragments.

“W-Woah…! It didn’t even last ten seconds?!” Baihe asked.

“Come on, this isn’t over, Baihe!” Kevin urged.

Both rushed at me, quickly adapting to each other’s abilities to create combined attacks to bridge the vast gap between us.

Whenever I moved to evade one of Kevin’s strikes, Baihe would freeze my legs, immobilizing me for a second.

Or when I shattered Baihe’s ice, Kevin would emerge from behind the spells, blending with the ice dust, striking me amidst the chaos with his lightning-fast spear.

Honestly…

Not bad!

Despite the power difference, they were pushing beyond their limits.

Kevin was drawing more power from his Sponsorship, and Baihe, too, now that Skadi had officially sponsored her.

They both represented Norse Gods now, and their power was impressive.

The more power they unleashed, the stronger their divine auras became.

They were developing their own unique martial arts through the manipulation of these divine powers, magic, and skills.

“But that won’t be enough for what’s coming…”

I needed to push them further.

I had to make them break their limits and surpass them.

So I kept training with them for hours.

When they grew tired, I gave them Elixirs made with Murim ingredients, and we were back in the fray.

Without realizing it, we had skipped lunch and dinner, and it was already midnight.

The martial arts books I had given them earlier were already fully mastered by these two.

Yes, they were true geniuses.

It feels like every character from the novel with any spotlight is exceptionally talented. They’re easy to train and quite fun.

“I got you, Anna!”

And finally, they caught me.

Baihe froze my entire body for a second as I dodged Kevin’s spear, and then Kevin vanished, transforming into dozens of spears of light, hiding within Baihe’s clouds of ice dust.

An onslaught of spears struck me directly, and I couldn’t evade or defend.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

BOOOM!

The attacks culminated in a massive explosion that engulfed me entirely.

I stood there in silence.

“Well done!”

I was proud.

However, their faces were filled with disbelief.

“Unscathed?! Seriously!” Kevin complained.

“Anna… just how tough are you now?” Baihe asked.

“Ah, this? Hahaha…” I laughed. “I’m just using some advanced body-strengthening techniques. If you read these other books I have, you should become much tougher too.”

I gave Body Strengthening and Meditation Manuals to both of them.

Within my mother’s golden palace, she had left a vast library filled with scrolls and books.

She did this deliberately, not by oversight.

She wanted me to spread the martial arts of Murim, especially those of Bestia, to my world and aid my people.

Because Bestia was a world of beasts, their techniques were quite primal and might not suit everyone.

But Awakeners are as resilient as Beast People, compensating for physical differences with skills or sponsored divine power.

“Wow, new manuals?” Kevin asked. “Celestial Mind Meditation Art? Golden Heavenly Lion Claws Fighting Style…? Huh, alright, let’s check these later.”

“Oh, these are interesting too!” Baihe said with a smile. “Frozen Canvas Meditation Art… Ice Qilin Freezing Kick Arts… oh, for my legs! I see, you did say they were quite weak. Thanks, Anna!”

“Don’t mention it. You earned those prizes,” I smiled gently. “Shall we head back for a late dinner? Who wants pizza?”

“Meee!” they both cheered. We spent an hour before bed eating pizza and binging series on TV.

For the next two days, we trained diligently. Annabelle, Sara, and even Scarlet joined us. My brother and Henrietta came to learn more from my martial arts, deepening their understanding of my adoptive parents’ legacies.

The others were a bit jealous that they weren’t receiving these powerful martial arts, but I kept providing them with foundational techniques to strengthen their base, so they didn’t complain.

Eventually, when the next week arrived, the day came. With my brother, we left the city once more, this time alone.

We didn’t use cars or anything of the sort. We stepped out of the city walls on foot, dressed in casual clothes.

I carried my dragon shield and Gram in my hands, while my brother wielded his black sword, with Fenrir trailing behind him, scanning the wastelands.

“That mysterious dungeon isn’t far from here, but it’s hidden,” Fenrir said. “I sense a bizarre distortion in space concealing it.”

“So it’s sealed,” I said.

“Yes, that’s right. After I possessed Jack and we left together… the dungeon was sealed,” Fenrir said. “But somehow, it’s still there… how odd.”

“Don’t you know anything yourself?” Jack asked.

“Hmph! If I did, I would have already you…” Fenrir sighed. “I only know that after Uroboros and the other bastards betrayed me, they wrapped me in chains and sealed me inside a dungeon. I’m not sure what happened afterward. I spent most of my time sleeping.”

“To the southeast, right?” Jack asked.

“Yes, I can smell it,” Fenrir said, sniffing the air. “Come on, hurry!”

We moved through the Wastelands, soaring through the skies using the Cloud Step technique. My brother mastered it almost instantly after reading the scroll.

With it, we skipped through the air, avoiding small-fry monsters below while gazing at the vast landscape before us.

Eventually, behind a mountain, we found something peculiar.

“A forest…?” Jack said, confused.

It was a forest exuding a ghostly, dark, and ominous aura, composed of blackened trees. A dense “natural” barrier of ghostly mist enveloped it.

Whenever we tried to enter by flight, we were dragged back to the starting point.

“This mist seems naturally formed, but the forest… I’m not sure,” Fenrir said. “This is a natural Ghostly Yin Formation, which only appears in areas with large amounts of Abyssal Miasma or Nether…”

“So the dungeon is slowly merging with the world? That’s dangerous,” Jack said.

“…That’s odd, though,” I murmured.

For a moment, I recalled the novel.

No such forest existed in the story. It was never mentioned, and no monsters ever emerged from it.

In fact, this dungeon never existed either, yet now we are proving it was still there.

Does that mean that, while in the original timeline the dungeon vanished, in this timeline, for some reason, it persists and is slowly contaminating Earth?

How does this make any sense…

“Seamless Abyss, are you there?”

No response.

Well.

Let’s press on.

As we entered the forest, an ominous presence permeated everything.

We could feel its pressure everywhere.

“What the hell is going on?” Fenrir asked. “T-This shouldn’t be possible…!”

“Fenrir!” Jack shouted.

“What?!”

I looked at both of them while Jack tried to warn Fenrir before a giant blazing foot crushed him.

BOOOM!

An explosion of black, ghostly flames erupted, sending my brother and me flying before we could discern what was happening.

[The ??? {Chained #######} emerges from the Gate between #### and ####]

“The Chained?”

Ignoring the incomprehensible message.

With my brother, we gazed at the colossal entity shrouded in the phantasmal mist.

A monster forged entirely of black, abyssal flames.

With a pair of glowing red eyes.

And wrapped in countless ghostly chains.

“T-That’s…! It can’t be…! That’s me?!”

Fenrir regenerated behind my brother, somehow damaged despite only a shadow clone being destroyed.

“How come there’s two of me…! This makes no sense…!”

As Fenrir struggled to comprehend, a massive wolf claw descended toward us.

“Whatever that is, it’s trying to kill us!” Jack said. “Anna, let’s take it down!”

“Y-Yes!” I nodded.

More and more events that didn’t occur in the novel kept unfolding.

What is this being, anyway?

And why does it feel so ominous?

[The {Seamless Abyss} looks directly toward your soul.]

…?!

Comments

Resources could be bones from a Void Wolf King, Void Star Grass that grows around black holes, Shadow Tiger claws known for their claws having the ability to cut shadows, Void Star Steel forged from space and refined upon entering a planet has a high level of space and star energy with a very unique gravitational pull which makes this metal very heavy, Shadow Yin Five Leaf Clover grows in an area rich in demonic shadowy energy that is said to make the area extremely cold like the coldest part of hell. Can't think of anything else does anyone have any other ideas

Just a thought: What if when Anna helps Jack to develop his physique they use shadow, void, and star elements. His physique could be like a black hole. Strong gravitational and magnetic fields could be generated by the physique similar to black holes. It would increase his ability to absorb as well as increasing his connection to the space element. Basically his physique is the dark spectrum to Anna's physique.
