OP Sister Chapter 524: Great Banquet

-----

After I convinced my brother to take it easy and not worry too much for now, he went to take a quick bath with Henrietta in one of the palace’s many bathrooms. Meanwhile, I was left to cook, or rather, my Egos used my Cooking Skill to prepare food while I relaxed on a comfortable couch on the terrace. Gazing at the autumn forests and distant mountains brought me a sense of tranquility.

I could understand why she gifted me this precious piece of her Inner Realm, including her home and all its contents. She left an abundance of food ingredients, a farm, a storage room filled with materials, weapons, armor, accessories, and clothes, mostly ones she crafted for me, along with a few of her own.

She also left several of her dresses, shoes, and other items. Were they intended as gifts for me? I may never know. But I appreciated it. I could visit her room, sleep in her bed, and recall the times I spent with her and the family I formed there.

“What’s wrong? Reminiscing about the past already? It hasn’t even been that long since you stepped out of the trial, Anna…”

A centipede made of light emerged from my soul, coiling around my shoulders and gazing at me with ruby-like eyes.

It was Sepa.

“I’m not reminiscing about anything, just recalling something pleasant,” I said, poking her face.

“Shouldn’t you be cooking? It’ll help level up your Cooking Skill,” she said. “Your Skills don’t improve when your Egos use them repeatedly, after all.”

“I know. I’ll get to it soon,” I shrugged. “Cooking isn’t my top priority right now. Vulcanus is. And hmm, I did gain a lot of EXP too.”

I glanced at System Notifications that appeared a few minutes ago. I had Leveled Up.

[Yes] [No]

“Right! I almost forgot about this! Okay, sure, give it to me.”

I leapt off the couch, realizing I had accumulated a wealth of EXP. Some of it was used for my Rank Up, but plenty remained.

FLUOSH!

A wave of pure energy surged from my soul, as if stored there for ages. It released in a relentless cascade.

It felt cold, then warm, then cold again, until I was enveloped in relief, resting on the bed with my eyes closed.

Once it subsided, I felt slightly dizzy, my Aura growing stronger, larger, and expanding outward.

“Phew~ That was great…”

“That felt refreshing,” I nodded, feeling relieved. “I could go for a nap now, but we should eat and keep moving.”

“Don’t be lazy now. You were the one who came all the way here and dragged everyone else along the first time, didn’t you~?”

Suddenly, a cat made of bright golden light appeared on my left side, her emerald eyes glancing at me.

It was Bastet.

“I know, I know. The Draconic Mana out there is intense, though. Who would’ve thought it would complicate things so much?” I sighed.

“Once you eat some of the monsters’ meat, especially their hearts, the Draconic Mana pressure should ease,” Sepa explained.

“What are you cooking?” Bastet asked.

“As Sepa mentioned, I’m cooking their hearts,” I said. “Using all the meat would be too much food. Finishing a plate like that would be impossible.”

“Ah, yeah, that makes sense,” Bastet nodded. “The heart is where the Draconic Mana is most concentrated…”

“Yep,” I said, standing and heading to the kitchen.

The aroma of delicious (fake) dragon meat filled the living room near the spacious kitchen. As I entered, I saw my Egos diligently preparing delectable dishes.

“Hey, how’s it going?” I asked.

“Almost done.”

“Can’t wait to taste this…”

“It looks delicious, right?”

“Yeah!” I said. “But, uh, do you girls even eat?”

“We eat what you eat. Anything you savor, we savor too.”

“So that’s why you’re putting so much effort into cooking,” I nodded. “Thank you for that.”

Once everyone finished bathing, they emerged from the bathrooms in clean clothes they had brought. Baihe, who had bathed earlier, took a quick warm shower anyway to wash off the blood and stench of monster corpses.

When they gathered at the large dining table, they were greeted by a draconic feast, primarily made from the draconic beasts’ meat, a grand banquet that will help them adapt to the world outside.

“Oh wow, this looks lovely! You did this, Anna?!” Hilda asked in disbelief.

“Eh, yeah!” I nodded. “Sure, I did…”

My Egos were extensions of my body, so they totally count as me when they get something done, right?

“It looks delish!” Annabelle said, her eyes were glowing brightly. I could swear they resembled stars glittering with the happiness she felt in that moment.

the world isnt as easy and free as you think. there's thousands of constellations watching silently. hundreds of void rulers. and an even more terrifying entity above all of them. if Anna takes everything easy and tells them all her secrets, she wouldnt be taking the world and its countless dangers seriously. she's thinking, she's being rational. telling everything would create countless risks, therefore it is irrational.

You know since Anna's subclass is the legacy of the Heavenly Demon which represents freedom the most. Anna is not truly representing this. She is let her insecurities, paranoia and fears of what everyone's reactions that she is forgetting that freedom isn't beholding of what could happen it is being confident in the now and herself. She can mention that she is restricted on what she can say and ask Jack to be a bit open minded. I wish for Anna to be able to just be a bit more open to some of her secrets to her friends and family.
