OP Sister Chapter 496: Planning For The Road Trip

Henrietta ended up cooking a delicious lasagna, accompanied by Caesar salad and homemade pudding for dessert, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The pudding was creamy and delightful, and the ice cream was refreshing after a long day. We spent the rest of the day at Henrietta’s house, chatting about various topics, enjoying the pool, and taking in the view.
My brother and Henrietta already looked like a young married couple based on how they interacted. He always helped her cook, clean, and more, and they discussed ordinary things like buying groceries, clothes, and items for the baby.
It honestly made me so happy to see him like this, and it brought a big smile to my face, which they noticed, giving me puzzled looks. Hey! What’s wrong with being proud of my little big brother?
“Ooh, so you’re going on a road trip?”
As the day came to an end, we talked with Annabelle, Kevin, and Henrietta about our plans for the coming days, we were embarking on a big road trip to two dungeons far from Stronghold City.
“Yep, that’s the plan,” I nodded. “Do you want to come along? This should be a great opportunity for everyone to grow stronger, as we’ll be fighting powerful enemies.”
“Sure! I mean, I have to ask Scarlet for permission, since she’s my guardian now,” Annabelle said. “But I’m sure she’ll agree! I wonder if she’d like to come along too?”
“The more the merrier! Do ask her,” I nodded. “What about you, Kevin? I think this is the perfect time for you to join us and grow stronger.”
“Hmm, I guess I should,” he nodded. “Sister, can I?”
“Ah, yeah! It does sound fun, but I don’t know if I can go. I’m this city’s guardian and all,” Henrietta said. “But I know it’s important for you all, so you should go without worrying about me or the city. I’ll keep it well protected with the chairman and the rest of the hunters.”
“I kind of want to stay now,” Jack sighed, looking gloomy after learning Henrietta wasn’t coming with us. “I want to be at your side now.”
“Aww, that’s so sweet of you,” Henrietta smiled, holding Jack’s hand and kissing him. “But you shouldn’t worry. I’m just pregnant, after all, so the baby isn’t even fully formed yet! Don’t worry, I’m in top condition. Being a hunter comes with a lot of benefits, like having a superhuman body. The problems that normal pregnant women face are nonexistent for female hunters.”
“Oh, really? I didn’t know,” Jack said.
“Yeah! And I’ve got all my healing and protection skills, magic, and equipment too! Plus, Gabriel is looking after me all the time,” Henrietta said. “So please don’t worry, Jack. Everything will be okay, and you won’t be away for more than a week, right?”
“I’ll try to come back as soon as possible, four days at most,” he promised, holding her hands.
“Haha, don’t push yourself too hard,” she giggled. “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
“It’ll be fine, brother. I’ll also help out and protect her using my Egos,” I explained, showing him once more the clones emerging from my Aura.
“Hmm, I guess that works,” he nodded. “But, just in case, Fenrir.”
“I know, I know,” Fenrir sighed. He suddenly divided his body into two exact copies, and one merged into Henrietta’s shadow.
“Hm? What’s this?” she asked.
“An insurance that you’ll be fine,” Jack said. “Fenrir will protect you in case something bad happens, and I can also instantly teleport to your side through Shadow Exchange.”
“Ooh! That’s super convenient!” Henrietta said.
“Yeah, but it’s a one-way ticket. I can’t go back to where I was once I use it,” he said. “But still, it helps.”
“I had no idea you had that ability, brother. I think it’s perfect,” I nodded.
Actually, I knew he would develop it, but that was supposed to happen during the Second Awakening, not right now. I guess his growth has been accelerated thanks to my intervention. He did evolve ahead of time and then ate half of Uroboros.
However, my brother’s evolutions are dangerous, as he sacrifices his memories for them. If he evolves too much, he’ll start to lose his sense of self and eventually forget everyone, like what happened in the novel.
To prevent that, we have to reach that dungeon and discover the truth behind Fenrir’s seal and who left him there, something that was never explored in the novel.
My plan is to find knowledge there, or someone who could help, and then modify the Seal that binds Fenrir and my brother together, so their evolution doesn’t require the sacrifice of memories but rather something else, perhaps resources or materials. Anything would be better, honestly.
Hell, even souls! I’ve got this Urn full of souls as well. Might as well use it.
“I guess I could come along, but I don’t know. I want to stay with my sis,” Kevin groaned. He didn’t really want to come, all things considered.
I could understand how he felt, but if he didn’t join, he would miss a big opportunity to grow stronger. Defeating powerful foes and absorbing Monster Cores is what helps Hunters grow stronger, alongside constant combat and the usage and mastery of their skills.
Unlike other similar worlds from novels I’ve read in this genre, in this world, Hunters don’t stagnate at a single Hunter Rank forever. They can continue growing as they train and exercise their bodies, fight powerful monsters, absorb cores, and train, polish, and master their skills.
And that’s without even considering the bonuses granted by Constellation Sponsorships, which can help Hunters leap Ranks with ease through instant growth from their bonuses and skills.
Yeah, and that’s me. I’ve been thinking about sponsoring Kevin, although he’s already sponsored by Odin. I’ve allied with his son Thor, who believes he’ll become my major sponsor too.
If I negotiate well, I might be able to create an alliance with the Asgard Nebula and convince them to let me sponsor Kevin to further his growth. Now that I’ve become stronger, my sponsorships are also stronger, especially with all these Plot Points.
In fact, just Kevin alone won’t do. I want to sponsor even more people, even those already “taken” by other Constellations. I have a good relationship with Gabriel, and perhaps I could even sponsor my brother.
Then the chairman wouldn’t be too hard, nor would Scarlet.
Now that my strength surpasses theirs, I think I can do it.

I just of something could Anna create like a skill that she could gift to Jake? One that can only be activated when he reaches max level. Where he is transported to a separate dimension that has many floors, each being like a trial/training grounds. If he dies in this dimension, he just booted out of the place and can not reenter until he gets to max level again. Time does not pass outside.
