ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania! Apparently this is an unpopular opinion, but I had so much fun with this movie! Enjoy!

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA - Full Length Reaction!

IMPORTANT: Scott's book is for sale on Amazon. It releases next month (seriously!)

The Dingo

Heyyy, it’s Billy and I’m not sure if it was mentioned yet but our ally here, Jentorra, is played by Katy M O’Brien. She was Elia Kane in the third episode of The Mandalorian season three. She betrayed the Dr who ended up getting his brain fried. (Little joke) Darren says to Cassie, something like, “I hardly recognized you.” Kathryn Newton is our third Cassie. Little Cassie … Endgame Cassie … This Cassie I just saw GOTG vol 3 a little while ago and I can’t wait to watch it again with you! Take care of yourself, Addie!! Hey there, Ollie!!

Billy Dancel

Yes she did, You can find it amongst her reactions from last December.

Luis Fernandez

Even tho its a short film, i would say its important to the storyline, did Addie ever react to GOTG holiday special? I don't think I've came across it yet! Would highly recommend before watching the 3rd film if you haven't already..

Anthony Jackson

This is not true. It might be a theory you subscribe to, but not something to state as fact. Given the efforts the movie makers have put into making their appearances different (different outfits, different primary colours, different facial scarring, different speech patterns), and the post-credits scenes showcasing the multitude of Kang variants, I'd say it's much more likely to be two different variants. But what with time being all timey-wimey, especially when Loki and Kang are concerned, I guess anything is possible.

Onno Smits

One thing you have to remember Addie. All this is happening before Loki season 1. Somehow one way or another, Kang Aka, "He who remains" ends up as the keeper of time again in Loki season 1. He will end up back In that chair for Sylvie to Stab.

I had a very negative comment here, that's not helpful. A bit more constructively worded: What I love about this film: - Jonathan Majors' performance, and basically everything about Kang (design, backstory, character). - The Victor Timely post-credit. The first time they tease a Disney+ show in the movies! Very cool. What I like about this film: - Some of the creature designs are very cool and inventive. What I dislike about this film: - Almost every scene very clearly feels like a set on the digital production set The Volume. The blocking is extremely basic, and everyone is standing in a tight-knit group on a flat surface. From a directorial standpoint, it's boring. - The actress for Cassie was... not very good imho. The previous actress from Endgame gave me more emotional impact in her 10-second performance than this girl did in the entire 2 hour movie. - The ending feels very unearned. I think it've been much better if either Scott and Hope were stuck at the end, or maybe if Hank had died or something. As-is, nothing was really lost or gained. - The writing of this movie is dismal, in my opinion. Even the trailer for the movie pitches a much more compelling story; one where Kang convinces Scott to help him by promising to send him back in time and allow him to experience those lost years with Cassie. And then Kang doesn't keep his promise... Doesn't that sound more interesting? I think there may be a much better version of this movie on the cutting room floor. And that's a shame. What I hate about this film: - M.O.D.O.K. - It breaks a lot of the rules established in the prior Ant-Man movies. What happened to needing a helmet? Why are you "huge" and needing citrus if in actuality you're literally minuscule tiny the entire movie in the quantum realm? What happened to the mental disorientation from your mind not being able to cope with the quantum realm? Where are Janet's powers that she had in the previous movie?

I'm happy you enjoyed this movie, Addie! I think this movie also gets criticism because there were slow moments, as well as some characters just didn't have much to do. Janet, Hank, and Hope kinda were just hanging out a lot of the time, and I think maybe they should've spent more time on the surface before going down to the Quantum Realm. But Jonathan Majors' performance as Kang was spectacular and I loved every moment with him. He's already an incredibly interesting character. He's got emotion and isn't just evil to be evil. We've heard about Incursions from Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness. How universes interacting with each other can lead to both of them just completely being annihilated. Kang saw the end and apparently that's gonna destroy the Multiverse. So his solution to save it is to control everything. The Variant we met in Loki as He Who Remains was afraid of people like Kang. Very excited to see more of the chaos and eventually all of these characters coming together to stop Kang and the end of the Multiverse. So I actually disagree with some of the other commentors thinking that this isn't the Kang we will be primarily fighting against. I think it makes too much sense to have this one return. The other variants say he was killed so I could be wrong, but I dont know. This Kang was so close to the comics I feel like he's the perfect fit. Having another one be just like this one but a completely different person just feels unnecessary when we have the perfect one. Of course, they might just do the opposite and have Jonathan Majors flex his acting chops again by playing several other Kang variants before we meet the actual one that will be our prime villain for the next phase, which I could also see being a very possible thing. Either way, I did really enjoy parts of this movie, and like you, I cannot wait to see what they make of all this! Guardians 3 is next and oh boy, you are not ready for that one! Just like Spider-Man No Way Home with Spider-Man, it's kind of the "Endgame" for the Guardians. They aren't done permanently or anything, but it is the end of a chapter. Excited to see the reaction, Addie! See you then!

First time watch for me. I'm just catching up myself. If I don't like it, I'm blaming you, Addie. Just kidding... EDIT: [AFTER VIEWING] Okay, I liked it! I could have done without M.O.D.O.K though. But KANG is the best MCU villain since Thanos, in my opinion. It was fun. I agree. And was that a Skrull version of Kang in the crowd of Kangs in the second end-credit scene?

You mentioned wanting to read Scott's book. Lucky for you, "Look out for the Little Guy" is an ACTUAL memoir by Scott Lang that is set to be put out next month by Marvel.

*cough* "Matrix Reloaded" *cough* "Matrix Revolutions" *cough-cough*

It was pretty fun. Kathryn Newton was a great addition. The film just didn't have the same tone as the previous Antman movies and that was disappointing to me, because I really liked those. There just wasn't much Antman in it.

Glad you enjoyed it. I personally enjoyed it for the most part but kind of just found it forgettable. The whole visual design of the Quantum Realm was great and I loved Jonathan Majors as this variant of Kang the Conqueror. He's not Prime Kang (The main big Kang) from my understanding, could be regardless he's extremally close to Kang from the comics down to the two scars on his face and the outfit. He could easily be Prime Kang but I feel like they're saving Prime Kang for the next two Avengers films as the one behind everything. We could even see hints of him in Loki Season 2 which would be cool. Was not a fan of MODOK in this film. MODOK in the comics was George Tarleton a former employee of Advanced Idea Mechanics or A.I.M. After being turned into MODOK he kills his creators and takes control of A.I.M. so when people think of A.I.M. the character of MODOK comes to mind as well. But for this film they turned Darren Cross into MODOK massively changing the origin of the character. Visually he looks like MODOK a massive head covered in armour and tiny floating legs and arms. I personally just didn't really like this at all both the fact they made Darren MODOK and overall how wasted he felt in this film. Hopefully we get an actual MODOK down the line with a messed up face and connections to A.I.M. maybe even go with George Tarleton. MODOK from Earths Mightiest Hero's for comparison - https://youtu.be/0M4B7IqJea8 Kangs we saw at the end: Victor Timely - The one Loki saw Rama-Tut - Pharaoh in ancient Egypt Immortus - Older Kang with the beard and cool headwear Scarlet Centurion - Kang with the slick armour with blue lights.

I would also throw in Wet Hot American Summer (2001).

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 Welcome to Phase 5 of the MCU!!! This was a really good movie. I think the thing that threw me the most at first was that it was a different actress playing Cassie than the one that played her in "Avengers: Endgame". But I thought that Katherine Newton did a good job. And looking forward to seeing her hopefully become a part of the 'Young Avengers' team in the future. I liked that we learned more about Janet's past when she was stuck in the Quantum Realm. Loved seeing Bill Murray in this one. And Johnathan Majors did a great job as Kang. And that second post-credit scene is setting up season 2 of "Loki", which begins in October. Up Next: "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". For another fantastic Paul Rudd movie I very highly recommend the 1998 movie "Overnight Delivery". I hope that you have a great day today! 😊

Happy Monday Addie, Welcome to Phase Five. You're almost caught up. A lot of people compared this to Star Wars when it released. I really like Quantumania, its different, more cosmic than the first two, bigger stakes and Kang.

I liked it too I love that you watch everything despite hearing it wasn’t good

Speaking of Michelle Pfeiffer, I also suggest Scarface (1983), The Age of Innocence (1993, directed by Martin Scorsese and shot in Super 35 format), & Dangerous Minds (1995, produced by Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer). #MoreMichellePfeifferForAddieCounts

I love the movie!!! Let me get my popcorn and watch the movie with you!

Happy Monday Addie, personally I enjoyed this movie as well, a lot of marvel movies and shows get a lot of hate after endgame but I found all of them enjoyable. Sure I wouldn’t put a lot of them as my favorite but I still enjoyed them, next is Guardians 3! Can’t wait, that definitely goes in my top 10 of all time marvel movies!

Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), despite what anyone says. There was a lot of flack about this movie for the portrayal of M.O.D.O.K. and memes comparing it to Spy Kids 3: Game Over (2003) & The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl (2005) came out on the internet. My girlfriend & I, alongside a friend of ours enjoyed seeing it in IMAX, though we felt that the prior entries were better.
