He clearly stated that if he let Floki lead the strategy, it was because he was convinced they would lose if he did. Floki was convinced that by killing Athelstan, the gods would reward him with protection... Obviously not. That's why Ragnar said Floki should worry less about the gods and more about the fury of a patient man! In other words, Ragnar sacrificed a bunch of his men to teach Floki a lesson. He doesn't give a fuck anymore.

The eye contact between rollo and the princess of Paris, that must mean something might happen between them, and rollo might arise from it. Also Ragnar looked at how beautiful the Paris was, and then threw himself off the wall in order to not die up there and conqueror it some other time, at least it seemed to me that way.
