That wasn’t the discussion though. The discussion was the perception. We have multiple car accidents on every highway everyday. But obviously those aren’t covered on the media. But we have a far better chance of getting into a wreck. Yet Joe will still watch YouTube videos while driving, meanwhile worrying about a mass shooting popping off lol. That was my point. Stories of mass shootings are not a normal, unsurprising news in most of the world. Even if it has not happened near you, or to someone you know, the chances of a mass shooting happening in the US are astronomically higher then in the rest of the non-warring world. There are more mass shootings in the US in a year then there are days. I see the amount of mass shootings that do not get reported more as media manipulations then the ones that do get reported. No matter how they manipulated media in Canada, we just don't have the mass shootings, and we are just as multicultural as the US. We also have a mental health emergency in Canada. There is a direct line from cuts in mental health over the last three to four decades and the amount of people that have un-dealt with problems, but still not the shootings.
