So I duno what these fellas know or not but Terrence Winter who created this show was one of the main writers on the sopranos. Buddy mentioned this show has all the kills that The Sopranos wouldn’t do and that’s true. The creator and show runner of the sopranos, David Chase, he held Terry Winter back from making the show non stop whacking. Chase didn’t want it to become meaningless. So Winter did this show and got to do the killings and action he wanted on The Sopranos. But honestly? Chase was right. Look at the opening of this episode, you see a bunch of people die. It looked cool. But it meant nothing. None of those people were characters we knew. They were nameless goons. See The Sopranos popped off when it felt like it. And it felt earned. Like Deadwood or The Wire. When shit went down? There was a cost. Boardwalk is an ok show. But it didn’t have that special something that made those other shows like The Sopranos great. A lot of that is down to casting. Steve Buscemi, I love the guy, but he was completely miscast here.
