As I stood there, unable to move, I went over the conversation in my head, over and over. There were so many things I could have done better. So many more precautions I could have taken.

- This is it. The Chronivac. I don’t know where the name came from. It doesn’t say that anywhere on it.
- But you said it has been in your family for generations. This looks like something designed by Apple in 2049.
- There has been lots of speculations. Perhaps Alien technology? Did it come from the future? The menus are in English after all. But perhaps it’s just adapting to what’s around it.
- And you can change your looks with it?
- Oh, honey. It’s so much more than that. You can change anyone, and not just the looks. You can remake them completely.
- Can I try it?
- Sure, just be careful.
- I always wanted to see what you look like with blonde hair. Let’s start with that.

Countless changes later, I guess I didn’t know her as well as I thought. The aesthetic things I could have predicted, but I was shocked to learn about her sadistic side. I can only wish she’ll return me back to normal eventually, but the way things are going soon I might not even retain enough of me to wish that.
