I never thought of it that way, but she did basically create a fully functional Vision in her hexworld, which means a fully functional mind stone. She is so scary powerful.

Oh right, I hadn't even considered that Thor's powers are a part of him!

***Spoilers for THIS episode for anyone who has never seen this*** Every single time that I try to convince myself that I have seen this episode enough times to be emotionally unaffected by it, I am profoundly mistaken. Elizabeth Olsen's performance, combined with the mental-health subtext and how it is delivered with so much care, just demolishes whatever defenses I have, and in a big, big way. My favorite takeaway from the creation of The Hex is that Wanda just materialized a functioning fucking Infinity Stone out of nothing. The Scarlet Witch has been a ridiculously powerful, reality-altering character for many years, but this little detail always blows my mind. This is my favorite Wanda story ever, and I've loved Scarlet WItch for decades.

Her grief exploding like that brings me to tears... I'm glad you remebered the Sokovia Accords where it specifies that making sentient weapons or synthetic beings (?) are prohibited. So, we now know thar Hayward is essentially breaking international law. (boy I wish that international law can stop or hold governments accountable IRL ๐Ÿ˜’) As far as Vision goes, It's not just the Mind Stone; He's a mix of that, JARVIS, Tony's influence, Ultron, Thor's power... all wrapped up in one sentient being who quickly became more than the sum of his parts.

I'm so sorry for your loss! <3

Wanda's been known as The Scarlet Witch from day one in Marvel Comics, but it was never uttered or brought up as a pseudonym for her in the MCU. It never really would made sense to refer to her as such. Until now.

When I realized it was all just her grief, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I love how they use Wanda's powers as a metaphor for mental illness. The illness was always there, trauma just opens the floodgates. I had Vision's line "What is grief if not love persevering" put on a cross to place on my friend's grave. That was such a beautiful sentiment that completely summed up how I was feeling inside. I'll never stop loving her even though she's gone.

Great episode!

Most shows might have one "Wham Episode". I feel like this whole series is one, big "Wham Episode".
