Era Poll

In future polls, it might be good to expand the "Classic" group to include the 70s. For most ppl today, 1980 (or at least Star Wars, 1977) seems to be the cutoff for what they consider to be an "old movie." I absolutely love 70s cinema, but I also love the classic period (can't ignore 5+ decades of amazing films) so I went with that. But interesting that "old movies" (pre-1970s and 70s) together account for 21% which would be a solid 3rd choice for eras. (No surprise that the 80s and 90s dominate, since that's such a nostalgic period for most people here, including me.)

2026-02-20 02:18:17 +0000 UTCWhat a good choice. I'm hoping for something that hasn't been reacted to half dozen times by others and that's actually a well made movie. This one is a great example.

2026-02-19 04:53:48 +0000 UTCIf you do the 90s you absolutely need to react to True Romance. Written by Tarantino, directed by Tony Scott. Absolutely stacked cast. It's a must see for the 90s.

Here is a personal choice from each year. 1990 - Darkman 1991 - The Rocketeer 1992 - The Mighty Ducks 1993 - Demolition Man 1994 - Leon: The Professional 1995 - Clueless 1996 - Fargo 1997 - Event Horizon 1998 - The Faculty 1999 - The Mummy

2026-02-18 17:25:55 +0000 UTCSince the 90s is the most popular decade for movie reactors, and it's leading your poll, you might think about something a bit offbeat within that decade. "William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet" (1996) a great classic retold with fantastic style. "Ed Wood" (1994) biopic of a mad genius filmmaker. "Life is Beautiful" (1997) an almost unbearably beautiful story. Not to be skipped in a lifetime. "Three Colors: Blue" (1993) Krzysztof Kieslowski is the greatest director you've never heard of. Even if you can't justify reacting for an audience please do yourself a favor and watch one of the Three Colors trilogy. There are a lot of great choices in this decade that go overlooked as reactors endlessly repeat the Face Off and Men in Black reactions. Look for the great movies in the decade and you will find some incredible work.
