Friday Rambles 2024-05-31

It's the last Friday Rambles of the month of May. It's still Friday somewhere!

As expected, the family of travelers in the row behind me on the plane coughing the entire flight did in fact share with me whatever they had, and I was sick the entire week. I'm still sick right now, actually! I think the virus got a second wind or something because I thought I was getting better but then I was stuck in bed all day today with a fever. I think I'm getting better now, though.

I was still pretty productive this week (or "cycle"), and also did a lot of non-work-related housekeeping things like getting a new battery for my iphone, getting new curtains for the window, installing a new shower head, and stuff like that. Which might explain why I'm not getting better faster now that I think about it...

This week was focused on merch making, so I designed some new stickers. Here's a preview.

I've always wanted to do a set of stickers with some fun dialogue written on them. I call them "opinionated" stickers, because they are specifically saying something, rather than being generalized expressions like the stickers I usually make. As for how well they sell, well, we'll see. I'll probably make them available as a bundle too for x% off or whatever.

I also received the sample for the "Time Warp" Skye plushie, which will be available in July, I think. I have some feedback to send to Makeship, but otherwise it looks mostly okay. The only issue is that the Skye plushie is kind of dated in its design, now that I have 3 plushies worth of experience, but hey, it's still authentic to Endless Monday history. I'm gonna have to think of a fun comic storyline that addresses it to do as part of the campaign. And maybe a bunch of other Skye drawings of her just enjoying burgers or air frying things so people remember she exists and that I used to draw her. Man if I fail to sell 200 Skye plushies I'll be so embarrassed I'll probably never make a plushie ever again and maybe even give up this cruel business and get a real job (what a nightmare (no one loves me anymore))

Okay, so this week's "cycle" was successfully completed (I'm not going to talk about the Whiskey sticker that I didn't have time to make), and all the stickers for restocking my shop are ordered, and the bonus prints are here too, so hopefully the sticker shop will be open again in the next two weeks or so. In the meantime next week's "cycle" is finishing up the omake story for Dreams and Deadlines once and for all. And hopefully I'll finally get over this cold this weekend. Wish me luck.
