Friday Rambles 2024-05-10

It's actually Saturday here, but it's still Friday somewhere! I'm currently writing this Rambles in a Starbucks in Seoul, sipping on a venti size iced Americano. I'm here again enjoying my freedom before my trip ends and I dive deep into work mode for the rest of the year. Since we're staying with family we're able to stay for a long time, and we're making this a yearly thing now that pandemic restrictions are mostly no more. It'll probably be a much shorter trip next year, because this has been devastating to my work productivity (and therefore my future income and budget) lol. And I'll time my next Japan trip so it's on the way back, too. Hopefully the timing will be such that I can work in an indie game event next time (because I'll definitely have something new to show by then).

Did a lot of stuff this week. Got new glasses. Went to Seoul, walked around for 8 hours straight around Gangnam, ate some real good food, saw some cool things. Today I'm hanging around where I used to live many years ago when I was working for [video game corp], kind of a nostalgia trip. It's funny that I'm feeling homesick for a place while I'm here. If I had unlimited money and no family obligations I think I'd like to live in Seoul again.

As for Endless Monday things...

The 1 year anniversary sale is over and done with, and it seems like the extra 10% off the usual discount price really helped push more purchases. I'm pretty happy with the numbers, which were sorely needed after a month of no discounts and no merch store. I slapped together one last comic for it at the tail end of the sale.

Of course this would have some serious implications for the overall "canon" of the EM universe in various ways but I've also never been super concerned about that.

It seems like Tiger-chan plushies are finally going out, like 2 months after they were initially supposed to go out, which is better late than never, I guess.

Speaking of plushies (Wow! Patreon Exclusive news!!) I'm also making another plushie with Makeship. But this time around it's for their so called "Time Warp" event, so it's basically a re-release of a previous plushie we've already done. That's right! Skye plushie is coming back! This of course means that I need to really start drawing a lot of Skyes again lol

Okay, cool, anyway, I'm gonna go get some lunch and walk around some more. Augh! I love being in an actual city!
