A psychologist holds a doctoral degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) in Psychology, and a lot of their education has to do with research, assessment, and diagnosis. Therapists can have a masters level degree in social work, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy, and tend to focus more on clinical work. Some psychologists also practice clinical therapy, but therapists *generally* are not psychologists.

Wait what‘s the difference between therapist and psychologist? Isn‘t every therapist either a psychologist or psychiatrist?

I think you guys would love the show Adolescent on Netflix. A 13 year old boy is arrested and locked up for a serious crime. His family tries to cope. The parents are sweet but we see them struggling with dads temper. They have been in therapy to become better people and feel guilty for having made a "bad kid". The show is very realistic and draws you in to this family. There is cyber bullying, cryptic emojies, Andrew Tate, Incels, troubled kids, therapists, cops, teachers...
