This conversation is so satisfying. I wish more people knew how human judges and attorneys are and that the process isn’t searching for the “truth.” Court proceedings show a singular picture with specific facts that can be let into the process. And those facts do not necessarily represent the truth at all. I could go on and on. And language! Yes, just because you are using the same word does not mean you have the same understanding. I really understood that a new way in law school and it’s the best thing I have ever learned in school.
