I watched the wife’s testimony and thought it was so interesting!!

I think you're referring to matsutake mushrooms which I've heard could go for $90/lb for really perfect ones.

Nancy gives me big Peggy Hill vibes from king of the hill.

Sorry Kirk but those tangents are getting more and more tedious. The whole car accident story could have been described like this: „Once I was driving behind a car that veered of the road and flipped. We got out of our car, the driver climbed out of the crashed car, saw one of her passengers dead and the others badly injured and repeatedly screamed ‚I don‘t remember crashing‘“ It is not really important, where you were, where you were going, what (by your admission) unfounded advice you give to people who find themselves in a similar situation, etc… I am a huge fan but this needed to be said

My husband has a photography hobby too. He is very good. In the past he has used the kids as a subject, and none of the kids were having it at all! I had to tell him you can't expect kids to wait for you to get your lighting set up and stuff. LOL So Dr. Honda seems to have had a similar experience.

I’m not far into the episode yet, but I have to state that I’m going to steal the phrase “I don’t know if that’s the right word, but it’s the word I am using” and put it in my repertoire. I am constantly searching for the right words 😅

I felt a similar way! I got so invested in the story and I felt that I really needed to know how it all concluded… when did the police or paramedics show up… what happened with the badly injured lady… did they flip the car back up… etc. I think Dr Honda got into the details and then sort of remembered that it was just an anecdote to talk about temporary amnesia from traumatic events, so he got back into the main storyline. But I needed to take a break after that accident story because I visualized the whole thing in my head and was low-key upset to not know what happened at the end.

Your anecdote about the car accident had me wondering if the driver briefly lost consciousness, like she passed out or had a small seizure. Or maybe zoned out. On a related note, are there any good techniques or therapies for people who saw something horrific and gruesome and it haunts them? Not necessarily PTSD, just remembering the event and the feeling of horror. Also: what happened to the driver and other passengers?

Claire B

The story of the accident is such an emotional roller coaster. It's kind of amusing that the whole thing is to make a point about amnesia, but for me it's irritating too. I felt a lot of emotions, I needed relief, and I didn't get it. And now I'm tired, and angry (hilarious, I know). My mind or emotions feel messed up with. I'm taking a break there. Is this a teaching technique? Am I triggered by a teaching technique? I will be OK. I'm a bit surprised by my own reaction. Legit cross though. LOL

I think I figured out the gun stuff. From the podcast I got that there were two guns. She bought a “ghost gun” kit which is all parts that you put together yourself, resulting in an unregistered gun. But she couldn’t figure out how to do it, and called a professional gunmaker so ask if he could help. He said no since I guess that’s illegal? She then bought another actual full gun which was registered. Then she bought a new barrel on eBay. She used the gun to shoot her husband, then replaced the barrel on it and disposed of the original one. This meant that when she turned her gun over to the police for testing, the new barrel wouldn’t match the bullets used to kill him.
