I'm on a roll with getting teasers ready. This one is slightly spoilery. But not so much that will matter two days from now when you read the story. How do you feel about the translucent dialog bubbles? I'm curious.
Garden Statues is a standalone written short story not part of any my franchises. It isn't a comic strip. The story is a little over 2400 words and features magic, statues, and long duration transformations.
This has little to do with the teaser. The next few stories: Garden Statues, Traveling Doll, Sunrise, and Ancestral Dolls involve long term inanimate transformations. Magic Shoppe: Oh, Henry isn't an inanimate TF story, though it is long term. It just sort of happened that they all came together... together. I'm planning to have teasers for each of these stories. Three of the five teaser are ready right now.
And after Ancestral Dolls, nothing is finished. Every time I think the "big story" is close to the finish line, three more chapters appear. I've been moving most of these new chapters to "book 2". But the operative word there is 'most'. The first book is around 63k words right now. And there's another 15k deferred to book two. The frustrating part is I'm not doing the AVN I'd hoped to spend this part of the year doing. And Ted's Doll season 5 is waiting in the wings. As are like two dozen stories waiting to be worked on. (Ironically, Sunrise was written last week, start to finish. It just demanded my attention as some of them do.)
