EDIT: I don't know what happened to cause the images to go missing. It was there yesterday when I looked at it. They're here now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Off by one scheduling: The statue in the restaurant, Anna, is first seen in Statue Rentals #12, which comes out next week and we see her meet Meredith. Oops. At least the appearances are less than 2 months apart this time.
I added a city backdrop to the exterior of the restaurant. Though I'm wondering now if it isn't a bit overwhelming. Oh, well.
Maurice is Katheryn's and Darren's waiter. Maurice was Reggie's and Leona's waiter. But, he hasn't made it 'on screen' yet. Poor Maurice. François, the Maitre'D, has introduced him twice. Perhaps he's shy.
Bonus Pic. I posted the raw render of Katheryn's imagination as a bonus image. She likes a rather ornate style of marble it seems.
Panel 1 – interior of Tellani’s Restaurant. A statue named Anna stands in the serving area
Panel 2 – Couple is seated in main row with excellent view of the statue, Anna, in the center of the main walkway.
Maitre’D, handing menu to Kate: Welcome to Tellani’s. I haven’t seen you here before. Is this a special occasion?
Mommy: No, we’ve heard so many good things about it but have had trouble finding time.
Daddy: We’ve been apart for a while and we’re finally together again.
Maitre’D: That’s wonderful. Your waiter is Maurice. He will be here shortly.
Panel 3 – Looking at menus
Customer at next table (small text): The living statue is gorgeous. What happened to the other one?
Mr. Tellani at next table (small text): Yea, Stacy isn't our statue any more. She was here for over eighteen months. Anna will be gracing our dining area for the next five months. But I know Stacy. I could pass a message along.
Mommy: The menu looks so good I feel like I could eat it all.
Daddy: Just because you spent a few months without eating doesn't mean you can stuff yourself.
Mommy: Ha Ha
Panel 4
Daddy: Did you hear that? That's a living statue. I'm sure if you put the idea in her head, Angela will turn you into one for Mother's Day.
Mommy: Don't be mean. You need to encourage her to practice more.
Daddy: Does all her practice have to be on you and last for months?
Panel 5 – the couple look at the statue, Kate is imagining a different statue in the display
Daddy: Look at you. You're already imagining how you would look as a statue under glass.
Mommy: I can even see my name on the plinth. I wonder how would feel to be solid stone? Dolls are hollow.
Panel 6 – Mr. Tellani interrupts.
Mr. Tellani (thinking): Why does she seem familiar...?
Mr. Tellani: Pardon my interruption, but you sound like you've been a statue like this before. Do you know the artist?
Daddy: Only if our daughter has been making statues and not telling us. She's a witch in training.
Mommy: And I've never been a statue. The only time I've been like that in public, I was a mannequin and my daughter left me in the store overnight.
Daddy: In fact, it happened yesterday…
