Part 2 of the Bethany series within a series. That's Bethany's father in case that isn't obvious. This isn't the first time Angela hasn't appeared in the story. Her mom isn't here either. I should have named the teacher. Oh, well.
Panel 1 – Bethany’s Father and Teacher are talking
Teacher: I’m surprised your wife isn’t here. She usually has a lot to say about Bethany's school time.
Gary Wilson: She’s staying with a sick aunt for an unknown length of time.
Panel 2 – wide shot of teacher behind desk, gather opposite side of desk
Teacher: I have to say, I don’t know what you’ve done. But, Bethany has been a model student these last few weeks.
Gary: She has? Frankly, I dread these Parent-Teacher conferences because no one ever has anything nice to say about Bethany’s behavior.
Teacher: A few weeks ago, I’d have given you a very similar report. Recently, Bethany has made friends. She’s been attentive in class. She helps other students.
Teacher: She steps in when someone is being bullied. She isn't afraid to ask for help. She’s a very caring and com-passionate student. Do you know what’s changed?
Gary: I have an inkling.
Panel 3 – repeat final panel of Bethany’s Mother
