It's the "Quick update" update...

The temptation to splatter this quick update with feedback quotes from the path testers is strong. Very. But that would also be a little bit unfair on them, and given they're the ones doing me a favour here, perhaps not exactly equitable.

But to paraphrase them, they liked it. A lot. Like an awful lot.

The new gameplay mechanics work well and the gameplay itself seems nicely balanced pathwise (always a concern of mine given the number of paths available). The plot and writing was well received as were the animations and perhaps far more importantly, the lewd scenes got particular praise. This latter one is a major relief for me. Not only because of the novel way I've chosen to implement it but because, no matter how good the rest of the components of the game, if I'd failed at the character/MC lewd scenes then I'd have let you all down. I haven't. Crikey, how I haven't...

They did find a few errors and glitches along the way. One instance of the "save breaking bug", a couple of routines where in replacing the code previously I'd missed a few return calls which made freeroam a bit of a trippy experience and some small graphical errors. But none of these are worrisome and are easy to rectify.

So work left to release boils down to the following:

 1) Rectifying the above

 2) Stitching together the evening modules (Caverns etc) to the main game correctly with the correct flags.

 3) Size compression.

 4) A final tester run through after 1-3 is done.

From my side of the screen, it's just slog, slog, slog and wrap it up. It's hard, dull work that needs some focus (especially on the coding errors) but I'm not after sympathy with that statement, just some understanding that at this stage I won't be very chatty and message responses will be delayed/slow.

But we're getting there and you're going to love it :)
