Black Swan (Chorus)

Today we'll be continuing last week's discussion of Black Swan. After the verse covered in the last lesson we will learn the chorus, or at least what I believe is the chorus.

This part is designed to play around the vocals. This is a useful approach to take when writing a part. When the vocals take a rest, the guitar steps in and plays a melodic fill. This creates a call and response effect. Towards the end, it switches to playing long ambient chords.

On the actual recording I split this part up between multiple guitars and sounds. The single note parts are played by a high gain guitar, and the chords are played with a low gain guitar to give more clarity. They are the same part though, so playing live I would play them both with a single sound.

Omg, can you imagine the attractions? There'd be a "slide", a lazy river with "bends", a bouncy house full of "tremo(r)los", one of those strength games you use a "hammer on"...

I hate to break it to you, but I think there's already a Guitar World. It's one of the most popular amusement parks on Ladyworld.

"at least what I believe is the chorus" lol, yes, that track has a very interesting structure.

Love a good musical adventure! :D The guitar on this track is amazing. I'm still working on the muting thing and I'm suffering--there's so many things to keep track of. I'll get it though! I am stronger than these strings :)

As long as there are Phobos guitar parts to learn, then halcyon's not over! This song is full of great parts. Really looking forward to seeing how you play the super metal riff during the intense "Evil Doc Sung" part.
