If Ebeneezer Scrooge hadn't learned his lesson by the third Xmas ghost then the fourth would have stepped in: The Ghost of Yiffmas (as depicted above) and he would have been forcefully converted to Furrydom; a virtual death sentence in Industrial Revolution era England. This didn't happen because Scrooge wised up by the end. Also Charles Dickens didn't know what a "furry" was and he wasn't completely bonkers.
