"Netherling" Pencils Roundup #1!

As I mentioned previously, I've been chipping away at the pencils for our upcoming graphic novel, and while I can't show too much, I wanted to at least give some idea of what I've been working on all this time!

I haven't talked about it much, but at its core, the book is about a girl who's looking for her lost basketball shoes - and who somehow finds herself stumbling into a strange new world along the way (AND getting a funny little disguise)

We had a few goals in mind with this book, but more than anything, we just plain wanted it to be fun, so we've been letting ourselves get a bit loose with it. This includes the art! I've been trying to really focus on expression and energy - I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Joe Whitt's work, but he's so so so funny, and I'm doing everything in my power to do his writing justice.

It's been a learning curve for sure; it's hard to know when to reign it in and let a drawing be simple vs when additional detail would add to a scene. Anyway, it's sooo hard to know what to write here when I'm trying not to reveal too much, so I'm just going to drop some out-of-order non-spoiler panels!

I'm about halfway through pencils right now, so *hopefully* I'll have more to share soon! Due to previously mentioned injuries, I'm having to really pace myself, but I feel like my excitement has been forcing me into decent progress regardless... Anyway, I need to jump back in, so I'll be ending this here for now!
