Part of the reason I left Alpha Flight out when I first completed the many guides to X-Men was because it didn't seem like it warranted much detail.
Alpha Flight's original 1983 series was only collected in a trio of trades, their 1997 series was uncollected, and everything after that was in TPB. Did I really need to make a page for just eight trade paperbacks?
When you chose Alpha Flight as your March pick, I debated what the page should include. Just those eight trades, plus the prequel collection and the new Omnibus?
As I started poking around into Alpha Flight's, I found there was a lot more that warranted explanation. For one, there was the fact that the classic Alpha Flight team only appears together in the 1983 and 2011 series, and none in between! Then, there was the continuity of their two mini-series with the X-Men and their Annuals. Oh, plus the many different identities of Heather and James, and the various departures, deaths, and returns of the team members.
Suddenly, I was looking a guide just as complex as New Warriors from back in November, which was one of my first guides to track every appearance of multiple members of a team.
I'm now in the throes of month-end activity - look for a monthly wrap-up post and April's Patrons' Choice poll here on Patreon in the next few days.
