Silver Linings Part 3

“Babe? Where’s my bag?” Ivana chirped from the kitchen.

Nicole grinned, padding across the hall and leaning around the corner at her adorable partner. “Why do you need it dear?” She sang sweetly. 

The crown of Ivana’s head bobbed over the island, moving along the length before she rounded the edge, her little sneakers squeaking to a halt. “Knock it off Nicole. I just want to grab a coffee.” 

“Where did you leave your bag?” Nicole purred, skipping through the flat towards Ivana. The tiny woman was wearing a loose orange top. “What does Mummy always say dear? If you keep yourself organized you won’t lose anything.”

Ivana grumbled, folding her arms over her small chest. “You’re not my mom.” She pouted.

Nicole sighed, feeling the air wash over her warm skin as she drew to a stop, tousling Ivana’s hair with one hand. “Not what you said last night.” She cooed. “Besides, the NDA you signed was pretty strict, you’re not supposed to be wandering around outside, by yourself especially.”

“I’m a grown woman Nicole, this isn’t fair.”

Clucking her tongue, Nicole shook her head. “Poor choice of words, Baby.” She sang, giggling as she looked over the outfit. The pair had selected it together, ordering online. The only thing remotely close to Ivana’s size came from the children’s section, and even then it needed significant alteration to fit her properly. “It's only for a little bit longer, how long did Liam say?” 

Ivana mumbled under her breath. Nicole stooped low, tilting Ivana’s chin to meet her gaze. “Ivana?”

“Two months…” Ivana pouted. 

“Exactly, so why don’t you settle down. Watch some cartoons or something…and if you’re good we’ll go out for ice cream this evening.”

Ivana frowned, but there was a familiar twinkle in her eyes, a twitch in her lips. As she stomped away, Nicole thought she caught sight of a smile on her reduced partners lips. Grinning herself, Nicole turned round and followed her back inside.
