Reflections 19, 37, 64
Added 2022-07-19 22:08:27 +0000 UTCTHANKS FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL FEEDBACK EVERYONE! Seriously seeing comments on all these wack weapons has been great so far. From the list we've seen, which would you choose?
And here's the spreadsheet with the unlocked Reflections so far! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13s-kMNuxvayJZ3HylynTo1A9lN0CKd7aIED-ImoE87A/edit?usp=sharing
You can use that to keep track of what has or hasn't been shown! I might have missed one or two and if so I'm sorry!
These are the Reflections rolled from last week's post! I'll be doing 3 of these a week, please respond to this post with new numbers and I'll roll again next Monday! Also if you liked these say something nice at the same time.
Please note: these numbers don't represent the actual chronology number of each Reflection in-universe. These numbers represent their position on the d100 chart, and even that may change!
Each Reflection is broken into:
Chronology number - Title - Weapon Type - What attribute color it grants the character. I may also include GM notes about how it's supposed to be played/used!
19
156 - Thieves Arsenal - Dagger - Purple: While technically a dagger, the Theives Arsenal is in fact the collected wishes of an entire group of thieves each of whom had their own area of expertise. This set of tools is refreshed at the start of each day, custom tailored to the job ahead. And if it isn’t, this weapon grants the wielder the ability to fleece fate itself.
Power: C
Defense: C
Tech: A
Anima: B
Special: A
Feedback: F
Gm’s note: On paper one of the simpler Reflections, in practice this incredibly useful tool is ALWAYS a dagger but presents the player with a toolkit that automatically replenishes itself every session with different tools correct for the job. Functionally, it is a Gift with a dagger and anywhere between 2 and 5 additional blank spaces that act as smaller sub-reflections. The wielder can state, “oh, today I brought my crossbow with suction cup arrows” and fill it in as one of the slots. Each session these slots reset to blank.
37
X009 - World Traveller’s Oar - Staff - Red: An oar with a ribbon tied around the head. A legendary traveller decided to skirt the top of the world rather than move within it. In her great ship she saw sights no others could dream of.
Power: B
Defense: D
Tech: C
Anima: C
Special: EX
Feedback: F
GM’s note: Everyone please clap for a very special reflection. With this weapon you do not row a boat with your oar, no, you force the entire world to move AROUND your oar. In increasingly large areas, you can drive this oar into the ground and SWEEP it backwards dragging the entire battlefield towards yourself. With a sweep of this weapon you can send reality itself cascading around yourself like water.
64
X170 - Black Cat - Pistol - Black: A gun stolen from the hands of the devil, this weapon is peerlessly powerful and also peerlessly unlucky. Even holding it in your hands you can feel the sheer miserable luck course through the object. If the user wills it, a shot from this gun will find its mark but good fortune always comes at a cost.
Power: A
Defense: F
Tech: A
Anima: B
Special: F-EX
Feedback: F-A
GM’s Note: Well, here we go. The weapon that decides that the dice game should be WAY more dangerous than it already is. With this weapon one can add additional “bullets” to boost one's own roll by 1d6, but in doing so the target is granted a black attribute BY this weapon creating fascinating tactical scenarios where shooting your allies to grant them an additional 1d6 for the remainder of the fight. Additionally this weapon has “I’ll take a success now for a guaranteed failure later” ability, as well as “I’ll crit now to crit fail later.”
