Throughout FLOW's incredibly short history the #1 spot has remained a static. Ascalon: the savior of humanity. Unquestionably the strongest person to ever pick up a reflection. Or, to others Ascalon: the one who is really really rude during interviews.
Ascalon was discovered by Dr. Verona and the Director in the Godsblood Swamp, Beleth. She utterly refuses to comment on her past there. In fact, prying even a single comment out of her has proven to be hideously difficult. Despite being well respected globally, Ascalon isn't particularly liked due to her habit of being an utter monstrosity whenever she's put on camera. Never has there been a "hero" this utterly dispassionate with the concept of public appeal. Instead, most of the favor and hype associated with wave 1 quite literally "saving the world" goes to agent ranked 2nd.
A result of this is the fame Ascalon draws to herself isn't personal or personable at all. Very few people like or identify with Ascalon like they do the other highly marketable FLOW agents. The public reveres Ascalon like a hero of old.
Ascalon is unique even among ESPers in that her anima allows her to perform a feat most people thought to be completely impossible: she can functionally dual wield reflections. As a result she lives in a lab directly across from the dorms where she spends most of her time.
She seems to have a somewhat favorable opinion of Ridill and will visit her office, mostly to hide from people asking her for things or to nap in Ridill's reading nook. Ridill as support staff for wave 1 has known Ascalon longer than anyone outside of the doctors of OPIA and has commented on her """friend""" on a few occasions when prodded. The assumption was made that Ascalon's distance and attitude was a response to the trauma of losing all of her squadmates, time and time again. Ridill's analysis was as follows:
"I think she is just like this."
If you find yourself around FLOW HQ and see the savior of humanity sprawled out over a couch or passed out in a corner, leave her be. She's earned her rest.
