Building on the changes to the tool system from last month, I've now overhauled the way that you upgrade your items. This new system will hopefully provide you with more flexibility and customizability when it comes to improving your tools.
Gamer Tier+ patrons can download and play Homegrown here.
And for Programmer Tier+ patrons the code is available here.
Upgrade Shop
A new shop has opened for business in the town! Just to the west of the tool shop you'll find the upgrade shop - and this is now where you'll want to go if you're in need of better tools. Instead of buying higher tier tools from the tool shop you can now upgrade your current tools!

To get started, click on the Upgrade Shop and select the item you'd like to upgrade. You'll then see all the the current stats of the item and you'll be provided with the option to spend money on upgrading these stats.
I'll be adding lots more ways to upgrade your tools in the future, but for now you can upgrade the size of the tool's area, the speed of the tool, and the capacity of some items that can hold something (e.g. the watering can).
Item Stats Displayed
You can check the current stats of the items in your inventory or storage by hovering over them with the mouse cursor. The name of the item is now displayed along with other relevant info. In the future the icon of the items will also visually change when you upgrade the stats, so it will be easier to see how they've been upgraded from their appearance.

New Collectible
The collectible object for this version is the machine that I used as a demonstration in last week's devlog video. It still has some of its functionality as well - you can put your excess items in there to destroy them. Don't put anything valuable in there though!

Don't forget to copy across your achievements.dat file if you want to keep any previously unlocked trophies. All unlocked trophies will spawn in your house storage when you start a new game.
Coming Soon...
Next up I'll be doing a bit of work on the plant health system and how that relates to the quality of the produce that you harvest from it. After that it will be on to some big changes to the compost system that will allow you to mix your own compost with custom buffs!
Thanks for reading and thank you as always for the brilliant support!
