This week was a little different from the others. I wasn’t expecting Frieren to win, but as democracy demands, the winner must be respected. Since Frieren was very close to winning, I had already started laying out ideas for her route just in case, and well, here we are! I already have the main ideas and events thought out for her route, and we’ve already started working on it! (That’s why this week’s sneak peek is a bit different from the others.)
As you may already know, this route will be a Nexus route but it will also include a free use for her. I know some people are wondering how free use will fit into a Nexus route but to that I can only say: wait until you see it <3

❇️ HOW CAN YOU TRY THE BETA? ❇️
By being either an Awake or Awake Limited Patron
If you are new and downloading the beta, remember: the 3 day beta phase is ONLY for bug reports, typos, and other issues that testers find. Please report them on our discord, on the awake chat to avoid spoilers. Beta versions are usually the buggiest and least polished ones. In this beta, some sound effects are missing, and a few voice actresses haven’t finished their scenes yet. If you want the best experience possible, just wait until the 3 day beta phase ends, when the official release comes out for Purple Patrons

We want to make sure everything is running smoothly and that the choices you make are well balanced for the outcome at the end of the route.

And the official winner of the poll for the next character is Frieren! That means version 0.14 will feature her Nexus implementation. Her event will be long so you can expect almost the same amount of renders and animations as a regular route (with the Free Use mode included) just presented in a more compact way.
I know there’s been a lot of debate on whether she deserved to win or not, in the end, it was pretty close between her and Bulma. Unfortunately for the Bulma fans out there, she’s in second place again (third time’s the charm, right?)
But because Frieren will be a Nexus event, you can expect the next poll to arrive quite soon, along with the route for the winner of that poll, so keep that in mind!
For the next poll. there will be two rounds: the first with hidden votes, and the second with the top five where the votes will be public.
So, as many of you know the past 2 weeks have been absolute HELL for us.
Coconut Head is out of the hospital and his surgery went well! Thank you to everyone who was worried about him and sent encouraging words he’s now at home resting ❤️🩹
We’re still adapting to the new workflow, to be honest. But I can confidently say that Tatsumaki’s route will be out THIS MONTH!!.
As for the POLL news
I’ve noticed there are a lot of people complaining about being able to see the live votes, arguing that people are now voting just for the candidate who’s likely to win instead of the one they truly like or voting to prevent either Frieren or Bulma from winning since they’re the only ones who might win this poll due to the huge voting point differences.
Honestly I think those are valid points and we’re still figuring out the best method for running polls. So just so you know, the next poll will have the votes completely hidden until the day the results are revealed. This will help us test how people act during the voting campaign and after the results are up. Then we’ll evaluate which method feels better.
Personally I really enjoy the new method of seeing the votes LIVE, the chaos and discussions about Frieren vs Bulma are honestly so funny and entertaining to watch

A bumpy week. This time the script has been slightly delayed, as well as the weekly progress post. Coconut Head focused on fixing a lot of bugs people have been reporting on Discord and also made substantial improvements to the launcher.
We noticed many comments about people experiencing low download speeds on the launcher, so we worked on tweaking it significantly. Right now, the full game should download at a decent speed in about 3 minutes (based on the average speed in our testing)

We have an important announcement to make. Unfortunately, it’s not a very positive one, but I feel it’s important to share it with everyone.
Maki will no longer be part of the project due to issues that have accumulated over the years. Sadly we’ve reached a point where continuing to work together was no longer possible. Honestly I’m still processing everything, it hasn’t been an easy situation to resolve at all. After much discussion we came to an agreement and unfortunately, Maki will no longer be a part of the MHF team.
I know many of you may have questions, and that’s completely understandable. However, the reasons behind this decision are deeply personal, so we kindly ask for your understanding as we won’t be sharing many details.
As of now the official development team consists of Coconut Head and me (Christof). But dont worry that much, this change won’t cause delays in updates. The last two updates were already handled almost entirely by the two of us, so while it’s more work, we’ve refined our workflow and are confident in continuing to deliver.
We are also looking for people who are interested in becoming mods on our Discord. There are multiple perks including pay it may not be much tbh, but besides the pay, there are other perks that you may appreciate if you’re a fan of MHF. So if you’re interested, please head to the Discord and feel free to tag me or any mod about your interest in becoming a mod <3
Recently we noticed that people from Russia in our community have been asking for a way to support MHF So we started working on a SubscribeStar option for those in countries where Patreon isn’t available or for those experiencing issues with it. This time we have a good reason for the delay (it’s still May 31 somewhere right?). We’re dropping a content update TODAY, RIGHT NOW!!! This is our first ever monthly release, and even though it’s a mini update, it includes some fresh and unique content that we hope you’ll enjoy ❤️
I won’t go into too much detail about the content to avoid spoiling it for those who haven’t played version 0.12 yet which I assume is most of you, since this update is dropping at the same time as the 0.12 for the public.
One thing I can share though, is that we finally have official Portuguese and Chinese translations! These will now be the main supported languages, and every update moving forward will include up to date translations for all supported languages: (English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, and Chinese.)
If you’re a patron, the new content will be available very soon! As usual, the public version will be released about a month from now. We really want to to update the game more often, and this marks the start of that effort (or at least our best attempt at it).

We made a decent amount of progress, especially considering we were finishing up the surprise update we just launched. Sneak peeks are still coming, and we can finally talk about version 0.12.5 without ruining the surprise!
We’re still debating whether to update the game once a route is completely finished or release updates monthly with all the events completed for that month. This would allow us to maintain a consistent release schedule with content that’s fully ready.
