Blood Asp Test Casting
Added 2023-09-02 04:02:51 +0000 UTCI don't usually post our production prototypes or castings because they're a more sensitive item, but I have to show this one off.
The Blood Asp went through my redesign pile for use in the recognition guides without an initial plan for a miniature, but come Adepticon and the kickstarter launch, Loren Coleman came to me and asked what would be a good mech to add to the kickstarter as a salvage box item. I campaigned hard to make it the Bloop Asp, and with some backup from Randall and Ray we had the green light. Alan finished off the sculpt and I put extra hours into polishing it to its very best.
Now 5 months later I've received images of the first test castings for it and it came out almost flawless, with only unavoidable levels of flash and ejector marks. Check out the crisp cockpit framing and SRM tubes!
It's definitely my favorite mech of the whole kickstarter so I'm super happy we squeezed it in. I hope the tens of thousands we make of this for the community can deliver at this quality level. We can also hope not, but I bet this one will sell out in retail as a high demand item.

I personally bought 2, one to keep stock and the other for a conversion to a Mech Assault 2 Blood Asp :)
