Salamander Miniature Painting WIPs 1

Hey how about something Protectorate Wars for once?

Having recently finally starting my minis painting journey, I decided I should finally paint up my Salamander mech that I had made so long ago. I looked and it's been a bit over 8 years since that kickstarter was launched. I've been sitting on this guy as raw assembled resin for around 6.5 years.

With my day off today I:
-Cleaned up the resin of dust, glued back fallen off bits.
-Primed it, with some zenithal effect.
-Red base coat, washed, and mild highlight.
-Dark and light grey sections applied along with some metal.

Due for another wash and even more intricate black and white striping all over the model. Also considering giving it a purple or blue shoulder guard accent color. Baby blue is the main flag color of the Prostor Dominion faction this one belongs to, though purple might be more fun.

WOOT! The Protectorate has not been forgotten! Has it really been that long? That looks great all put together in a photo. Don't regret getting the Print over the model but still tempting after all these years. If I only had the money.

Some form of taking a protomech and making it full mech sized.

Anthony Scroggins

Very cool. If this was a BT mech it'd most definitely be WoB.

We sold them in a kickstarter. Currently you can get them from James Jimbo Burrell, I'm not sure if he has an open web store right now but you can find him on facebook to inquire. The STL is was too messy to print. The master print was hand smoothed for days just to be usable.

Anthony Scroggins

Awesome! Where did these sell? Are there stls?

Got one of these waiting for paint as well, I really should get to it, it's a great looking design. Yours is coming up nicely!
