Ostroc 3D Sculpt

Here's the Ostroc. Being the 3rd of the lot it was heavily guided by the two preceding it. Was nice to break up the egg shape with the missile launcher.

Alan Blackwell handled the sculpt on this one, including doing work on the back design.

Seeing the Ost-mechs is kind of a positive surprise. Have an old Ostsol in my stripping jar and pretty sure an Ostroc was one of my first battlemech minis (for 2nd edition I think).

Mikael Bergström

It's definitely a decent take on the design.

Good to hear. I think a big part of the issue is the west simply didn't have mecha artists during BT's first heyday. Then BT went through it's low period. When CGL took the property over, there were finally artists in the community that specialize in mech art and what we've done now became an eventuality.

Anthony Scroggins

I have to say, I'm kind of curious to know what you think of Eldonius Rex's version of the Ostwar in one of his most recent pieces. On topic: loving these Osts, can't wait to eventually see them on the shelves!

Malintus

Caramba! I want to put it on the table! Actually all three! But given how much it will get to us, the players, how much time will be spent on production ... It's easier to make a model yourself ... and play for fun)

Andrey

Well the idea situation would be that CGL makes enough money on the current kickstarter products that they would not have to do another kickstarter. That would show that are growing

Just chiming in to say that I love the updates you guys have given the OST series. I feel like artists have struggled with what to do with these mechs for decades with very mixed results. This modern redesign is the first time they look (to me) like they share a common egg-pod aesthetic which hints at their anime origins but look like they were designed that way rather than torturously morphed from a previous design. Absolutely brilliant!

Peter Shah

I'd say IWM will likely do variants, but that would be soooo far away considering the kickstarter mech backlog that isn't even started yet D:

I didn't think it possible, even though the artwork showed promise. The original Ral Partha sculpt is perfection in regards to detail, scale, etc. This rendition of one of my favorite mechs is at least equal to the original Ral Partha sculpt. This is also perfection IMO, the front and backside details are amazing. I'd love to see variants such as the OSR-2Cb, OSR-3C, OSR-2M. Well done on all the Ost mechs. Like many others have stated, I too hope to see minis of these sooner than later. My heart-felt thanks and appreciation from a long-time Ostroc "driver".

Burning Chrome

That's so good! I know the Ostscout is so new and well done that it doesn't need a redesign, and the same might be said for the Ostwar too, but I'd love to see all four of them done in plastic for an Ost Lance Pack.

Ben

Man, I need the Osct mechs so much. They fill so many holes in the IS lineup.

Chris

I completely assumed a Levs KS would have happened by now, but here we are haha. I personally don't know when either a Levs or BT KS will happen. What I think shows here is should another BT KS happen we'll be much better prepared :)

Anthony Scroggins

Agreed!

Bolththrower

Ost's need their own lance pack.

Bolththrower

CGL won't be doing any BT Kickstarters until after they've finished fulfillment for everyone who signed up for the Clan Invasion KS, which is still being worked on to my knowledge

Malintus

Is the Leviathan Kickstarter going to come first or is this not going to be a Kickstarter thing?

Andrew Bethards

I really love all the Osts! Hoping they make it into a force pack someday soon!
