Cicada 3D Sculpt

I think it came out great.
Also a render of the Cicada with a Locust was requested, but I thought I'd do a bit better and throw a bunch of bugs into one shot. There were a few more clan mechs with bug names too, but I decided to leave those out.

I love this Cicada way more than the MWO Cicada. Even if it looks slightly chunkier it just means it's squatter and not as tall. I really like the angles on the torso, especially under the chin and such. It looks like a proper medium competitor to the Locust.

2022-07-06 23:05:05 +0000 UTCGood to hear, thanks. It's cool that you lobbied for the bug look, because I really like the CCG art too. And like you, the Cicada was one of my fav rides in MWO. I put a gauss rifle in the thing and turned it into a hunter/killer torpedo boat, back when gauss was overpowered and the Cicada was still one of the faster mechs around.

2022-01-23 22:19:36 +0000 UTCI can say that among it's tonnage peers, it has quite a chunky torso. I wanted the torso to look even more bug, kinda like the CCG art, but I couldn't get that to pass.

It's too "squished" and needs to be fattened up quite a bit to look like the "bug" that it's supposed to be. Hopefully still time to improve on it before it gets cemented as a mini.

2021-12-09 04:15:39 +0000 UTCVery nice update and the 3-D sculpt is excellent. This looks sleek and deadly with a hint of WotW Tripod menace/vibe to it somehow. Cicadas...one of the worst (and for some mechwarriors -last) mechs to underestimate. As others have suggested in the past, I think it would be awesome if a "top-down" view of these could be made as well so the MegaMek team can get the icons right. Some of the new icons (and past) are, well...let's say "off".
