I think I know where you're coming from. When the RecGuide released there was a surge of people hailing Space Pope etc. it's meme-y alright but with the large influx of 40K players this year you see a lot of people who came out of a Black Templar scene or similar and might ride on the wrong line of satire.

I think they've already said the final single release wont contain every mech in the guides, but wont contain any new extras. This is to not screw over those who have been supporting the guides by forcing them to buy it all again. That's what iced the outrage cake on the 3145 TRO's, you had to buy all the mini TRO's aaaand both big TRO's to get it all. We've got multiple projects these mechs are going towards :)

I think this is the last Rec Guide season, and they plan to combine them all into one at the end. So maybe worth holding out if you have so far.

Hauptmann kinda makes the hunchback mention obsolete, as it contains its big shoulder gun and head/arm lasers. But yes :)

This mech can't decide if it's a Hauptmann, an Awesome, or a Hunchback. It's got a little bit of all three going on. I don't hate it.

Definitely something I don't have a good read of beyond knowing that management above me is a hair more liberal than I am so I tend to expect them to not be outright offensive. Though they are all old guys at the end of the day haha. I think they're trying to add more nuance to the old ways of black hat white hat. Might not always be a perfect execution.

Ok, thats about the best way I have seen people put it so far. I just have an uneasy feeling with this. Just have seen first hand, the us v them way too much in the last couple of years. Not going to be surprised when the poop starts flying: "You committed genocide against my people.. you are godless and deserve to die" on the forums. That's what I worried about. It seems like Catalyst is doing the hand wave, hey everything's going to be just fine, its only fiction.

I think if a religious group is bringing their beliefs to the battlefield, there's a decent chance they don't consider any religion of their opposition to be legitimate. Keep in mind these TRO's are written from within universe so they can come with all the prejudices or lack of tact the fictional writer may have. A space pope who goes on crusades would certainly call the opposition that killed his former leaders "godless". At this very moment in real life, religious leaders deny each others legitimacy, so I'd call this nothing short of a realistic line... and this entry is ultra meme tier from the get go so that's saying something.

As someone who once considered his life worthless after he left the military and all of the kings doctors and all of the kings men could not put the Soldier back together again, except for someone called Sensei. Maybe you should talk to some of the devs at Catalyst and have House Steiner go on a witch-hunt, or House Marik eradicate all druids. Maybe House Liao should start having stompy robots go though Mosques. But I guess its ok for the "Godless Kuritan's". I mean Shinto doesn't have Gods right? Might want to check that.

Hey, at the end of the day if you like the design (and eventual mini), just make a variant that fits into your timeline of tech. It does run entirely on invasion clan tech, and can be made to run IS tech too.
