The Widowmaker
Added 2019-09-20 05:33:43 +0000 UTCSorry for the slower rate of posts this month. My team is in crackdown mode trying to get as much done as we can for Wave One of the Kickstarter.
I've got a lot of old content I'm having to run back over to make sure our models are extra polished, and have a lot of new content I want to show you but is sitting at 90% done so I'm holding off.
While my other guys rush out new mechs and finalize their old ones, I'm tackling the 4 Hero mechs from the KS.
Widowmaker is the biggest one, on changes and on size. Completely new loadout with just a bit of part pulling from the Warhawk model.
I know a few people are upset they're not getting the Widowmaker Warhammer, but that would have just been a different pose. You can still paint one up in dragoons colors.
This Direwolf gets a nice setup of unique geometry, and is huge, so I think it's a better value.

But you know, ummm, love is that battle that beats in the heart of the warrior longing for human connection. Or... something. Haha. Do not get me wrong, I love mecha anime... but... uhhh..... yes. To your point.

2019-09-25 12:18:17 +0000 UTCI personally saw no problem with it, I mean we are talking about using giant robots and jumping between the stars, a little mysticism was fine. But to each his own! :-D It beats singing a song to stop an unstopable giant warmachine!

2019-09-24 19:42:13 +0000 UTCOh man, that whole phantom mech thing was so strange. It almost seemed like Battletech was going to have an element of magic and mysticism associated with it. I was happy that they did not end up going in that direction with future fiction (I am sure someone has at least one instance where they did that I am not aware of), but it remains jarring to read the works that include it.

2019-09-20 17:57:49 +0000 UTCI can’t help but see the UAC20 as a small T-Rex arm, which makes the real arms look like they don’t belong. I guess that means I’m having trouble seeing the air intake areas and the relatively unintimidating autocannon as part of the torso. I really like medium lasers mounted a little lower in the hull.

Seriously the only thing I would change, if anything is to make the PPC Barrels more like the heavy PPCs on the celestial series, but that is cause I like the open cooling jacket/muzzle break look. do make sure that the final mini's pose is a nice wide "Come into my web you little pups" stance.

2019-09-20 14:30:32 +0000 UTCThere is no hard canon on how many barrels there are per class, in fact it says specifically that it varies. Most AC's are single barrel but not always, UAC's are often multibarrel but can be single, only RAC's are always some form of multiple. A UAC20 is much more likely to be multi than single barrel, compared to a UAC5.
