Yeah, once you understand staffing costs $600,000 gets eaten up pretty quick. I also think the growth of this KS is less about the stretch goals and more about the lasting commitment of a, frankly, parched Battletech fan community.

Yeah, it's absolutely amazing how much the Kickstarter raised in its first day. But was is it a total surprise to everyone, I don't know. Battletech has been an extremely popular Sci-fi universe for 25 years, and its supporters are very loyal. Some started Battletech 25 years ago when they could barely afford buying a mech a month, and now they are all grown up, with plenty of disposable income, and still love the franchise. I can only talk for myself, but that's the story I would sign up to.

Well the IP has always been one of the best, heck in the old days it gave GW a run for their money, that said I have faith that they can pull it together and make it happen. I could be misguided but I don't think so. Plus if you did a lance pack with a Goliath scorpion Ostroc and Ostsol you would have all the mechs we lost!

Yeah, what we've seen in just one day is what I would have wanted to see spread out to $1.5million or more.

Well... this is not encouraging. :-( I can see how this is probably going to rocket right the hell off the rails. I felt good about the originally previewed mechs, and I love some of the ones in the stretch goals. But this is really a lot.

Not that I don't appreciate new product...but it took CGL a LONG TIME to be able to produce 10 new plastic minis. We're looking at 60+ now. I know the process has been refined the team has gotten bigger....but I'm worried we're looking at a Robotech Tactics situation.

This is an immense concern of mine and management doesn't seem to want to hear it, even though everyone below them is screaming it. This should be an easy money run, but get ready to expect something bad.

Love the minis. I do think they need to cap the KS to keep it from getting too big and overpromising. The Robotech Tactics KS did exactly that and it was a disaster. I'd rather have product fulfillment and a happy fanbase than more mechs than the design team can handle or get designed in a reasonable amount of time. Negative Nancy signing off.

At the current rate, Anthony's going to be chained to his desk and fed IV amphetamines to crank out all the new designs by March...

After 13h the KS nearly arrived at the 500k$ watermark. If this is not frightening i don't know what.

Yikes... They need to spread it out to $50k to $100k, if not more, per stretch goal. It's getting unwieldy for us to go through the page at this point, let alone the designers.

I can understand about that, do you think the response to the KS shocked a lot of the brass at Catalyst?

I don't even know. This is how much of a mess it is... I don't even know what mechs they're announcing I'll do.

I agree IWM should be doing a bunch of mech redesigns, not all plactic from CGL.
