2025-06-11 01:45:20 +0000 UTCWent down a bit of a rabbit hole to find the answer to “Why do they dub these?” From what I could find, there are two main reasons: 1. The country is huge and has over 22 official languages. If you combine all the languages and dialects, it’s allegedly in the thousands. Therefore, they have to dub the movies into different languages to cater to audiences from different states. 2. Apparently, it’s very common in Indian movies to voice over even if it was shot in the same language. There were multiple reasons mentioned for this, predominantly to improve audio quality. It could be a cost cutting measure? I'm not sure. But yes, this is what I found.

Bahubali franchise is more in vein with Indian mythology and symbolism, which is why some things which might give goosebumps to me would be like a cool shot for you guys. if you are discovering Indian cinema take it slow. lots and lots of gems to discover.
