i know my comment is late but the elders dont pick the hokage. in the end of this one filler which is part Cannon, there was a meeting with the Lords of Land of Fire with Danzo, Shikamaru dad and kakashi and i think ino and choji dad there as well i cant rem. but they actually chose Kakashi to be the Hokage and Danzo intervene and voted himself to be the hokage and the Lords was just okay fine or sum like that... i wish they showed it in the actual episode itself

Ik the whole Danzo leaking the info thing was in one of the novels, and although they’re canon they def feel more like retcons to tie up loose ends like this (it also kinda contradicts smth the third told Iruka but wtv). My statement is more so from before those were written (which happened after the series ended). Either way I def can see both sides of keeping his parentage a secret, but I personally still think in the situation they were in, revealing it to the village at least would’ve been the better choice 🤷🏻‍♀️

Naruto being a Jinchuriki was supposed to be a top secret too until someone leaked it to everyone. Being a leader’s son can be just as dangerous. For example when Nagato took revenge on Hanzo, he didn’t just kill him, he also wiped out his entire family too lol. Just because Naruto being a Jinchuriki was leaked doesn’t mean they should’ve revealed he was Minato’s son as well. Especially since Minato had a lot of enemies and exposing that would’ve put unnecessary risk on their valuable Jinchuriki.

In Naruto, it’s pretty clear who’s stronger than who, while in one piece, there are way too many matchups where it’s hard to tell who would actually win. I can't speak for One Piece, but Bleach runs into the same issue where they have to introduce a stronger enemy, for our main characters to become stronger to beat, for the next enemy to be stronger. I AGREE WITH JACK! Being known as a Jinchuriki is much more dangerous than being known as the former hokages son. There’s many examples of this outside of the threat of the Akatsuki (don’t wanna spoil them). You’re even going to see a flashback of a Jinchuriki’s identity being kept a secret because of this very reason!! We’ve also seen many relatives of hokages be publicly known 😭. Since the village already knew he’s a Jinchuriki, at that point might as well tell them who his dad is…at least that may sway the villages feelings and opinions towards him rather than ostracizing him 😭

Lmao I felt my heart drop when Cannon went as far as to say “team Danzo.” Great reaction and post discussions though! Really enjoyed it, especially what Carter had to say about no one from the Leaf being able to take Pain. And to Carter’s point, it makes sense for people from back in the day to be exceptionally stronger than the current generation considering all they knew was war so that forces you to just strive for strength in ways they don’t have to now.

Danzo was talking about how weak and naive the 3rd’s teaching was which effected the village , blaming Jiraiya the 3rd’s student teaching jutsus to foreigners who became the leader of akatsuki , Orochimaru his student turn rogue came back attacking and made the sand betrayed the leaf , Sasuke also joined akatsuki and he was taught by ofc Kakashi who was Minato ‘s student who also became Hokage which danzo have a problem with , the shinobis coming out of the leaf grew up in a more peaceful era than the other 5 hence most of them r weak , Danzo wanted to change this . Not counting Katsuyu constantly giving him intel on pain from inside his clothes. Also the Nine Tails and Minato helped him. So his fight against pain suffers from a completely unbalanced match up. Naruto never did it alone. He only did it due to the effort of a lot of people combined

So Genjutsu =reality(gen) technique(Jutsu), Taijutsu=physical technique and etc. Though I can understand them keeping it as Jutsu though becuase it’s basically a big power system in the Naruto world.

People try to explain in some complicated way but just ends up not making any sense. I dont think Kishemoto either completely thot out the power scale or its not explained very good in the anime. Then even some people try to explain but then like even Brig and McCay seem to not be sure with the whole Tsunade against Pain. I think she actually haves a better chance then Jiraiya cause shes a healer and OP Strength not sure if its Thai Jitsu but either way way more effective then all Jiraiyas Ninjustu plus he never mastered sage mode.

IIRC the original idea that Kishimoto had was to have Tsunade fight Pain to get revenge for Jiraiya but this was change due to his editors. Also, Tsunade is an incredibly strong ninja. We just haven’t gotten a lot of content that really showcases how powerful she is. And comparing her to Hashirama is pretty unfair, dude is literally the pinnacle of shinobi. While Tsunade isn’t on Hashirama’s level in terms of achievements and crazy feats, she’s still done a great job. She revolutionized medical ninjutsu and is considered the greatest medical ninja of all time. She’s also one of the most powerful kunoichi (female ninja) of all time and is a Kage. That’s a pretty solid resume and there’s even more, but spoilers.

Marking Sasuke as a rogue ninja, especially now that he's surpassed Orochimaru is so trivial it's a joke. Also the "they couldn't tell Naruto about his parents because he would be targeted" makes no sense considering we know that Asuma was the Third Hokage's son and Konohamaru is the Third's grandson. On top of that Tsunade was the First Hokage's granddaughter and her brother Nawaki was obviously the First's grandson, yet he was allowed to go out and die as a genin in the middle wartime. This excuse would make more sense if they were at least consistent with it. Asuma and Konohamaru in particular were the descendants of the current Hokage until Orochimaru killed him so they should have been even more protected if this was important than someone who is the descendant of a dead/former Hokage. Would've made way more sense if Naruto was told about his parents but also was raised and watched more closely in the way Konohamaru is escorted by Ebisu.

Tsunade is one of the three Sanin, but her strengths are literally her physical strength and her healing jutsu. She doesn't really have anything else. She doesn't use any other jutsu. But, her healing is so powerful that that makes her up there. Also, Lady Yugito was the two tails jinchuriki. She was from the cloud village as well. She was the one that was fought and captured in the sewers early on after Gaara was captured. Her tailed beast is the blue tiger with two tails.

Yeah Pain is my goat in Naruto (next to Itachi, obviously), especially in terms of power scaling. There's so many reasons that lead to Pain's defeat but Pain being overpowered wasn't one of them. Maybe Tsunade's pure power strength isn't on tier with Hashirama but in terms of being a descendant I think she's put respect to the name. Protecting everyone in the leaf from the atom bomb to the point of going comatose is exactly what the hokage should do
