I personally have always found Breaking Bad to be mid at best, same as All Of Us Are Dead (compared to other Kdramas). It seems like more people are watching/interested in All Of Us Are Dead though. Most of them have seen Breaking Bad anyways, so that fresh reaction is not really there. Anime definitely has the largest community, and then K-Dramas. So why would they drop the 2nd largest community, which you admitted to having more views. Not to mention, if Anime is there priority, K-dramas are perfect to play second fiddle because they only usually have 1 season; as opposed to American TV shows that have many seasons. It sound's like you're salty for not getting what you want.

TBH with how slow Violet Evergarden is being posted and Breaking Bad on break + the anime catalog being pretty limited to popular Shonen, I think this is a good time for me to take a bit of a break from this Patreon anyway. I feel like instead of people getting so mad they should just unsub for a bit until more content shows up. I'll be back though, can't wait to see more of y'all reactions, it's just too sporadic and unpredictable for me to be paying $10 every month! And I totally get with so many reactors y'all have schedule barriers, have y'all ever thought of maybe doing certain shows for pairs of you? Breaking bad is just not that good after a few seasons but you don't see us people who don't care for the show over here crying and calling it mid. Get over yourself. LOL everyone is so upset for what. We don't know what's going on. And frankly if we force them to continue shows or movies that they're just either not interested in or don't want to, they're going to burn out and hate it. I have dropped or paused plenty of shows and movies before. It is not the end of the world. Guys, it’s really not that hard to understand. I personally was watching the BB reactions because I love that show but a lot of people are commenting because of the principle of the matter. Dropping shows out of the blue like this is extremely bad form. You’ll be glad that such a stink was raised when it’s a show you like that is on the chopping block next. If they start the show, they should finish it regardless. If that means they have to pick their shows more wisely then that’s what they need to do. Why would I follow reactions week to week if there’s a very real chance that it’s not going to be finished?

I think its a matter of what they're interested I guess. One of the best reaction channels is this group of friends and their channel is called Reel Time. It's so organized, they react to multiple shows and movies a week on a schedule. The range of genre of what they react to is huge as well. Right now for example they're reacting to a show I don't want to watch, but then they'll watch something current like Adolescence or Leverage. Movies wise they'll react to a classic like Good Will Hunting then Clueless. Like this week they had a vote and people voted for Horror, its not really my thing but their organization and their ability to react to different kinds of things is such a strength!

Being a cinema gek fan is the most frustrating thing. It feels like we are constantly the second priority. There are rarely binges or surprise drops compared to the anime side. Actually at this point every drop is a surprise drop because they are so many delays. I'm sure we will return to peak soon but the decision to ignore the polls and watch All Of Us Are Mid and then drop the only other show on the channel feels like a kick in the balls. I know the geks started with anime but if they want to build up a live action fanbase then posting kdramas is the wrong way to go about it. Sure they get more views in the short term because people come over from studio gek, but they don't bring new members in and grow the community in the long term.

Yeah, I hear ya. I’m definitely not saying I have the perfect solution or suggestion. Or even that it would be the best thing to do. It’s just my opinion and the impression I get. It feels like there’s too much to keep up with. I just threw out an example. A formula or whatever, wouldn’t have to be law. But a set of guidelines to help them schedule and fill slots. And adjust things based off the kinds of shows (super long, shorter, super short, old but a new season coming out, etc etc.) There would obviously be factors that would kind of change up the “formula” but it might just help with the mental load of it all to have some sort of roadmap/guideline whatever you wanna call it. I also imagine as they’re all adults with their owns lives, it can be hard to all get together like this. Fewer shows at one time would mean they could record more of a smaller batch of shows and still have plenty of content to upload because they aren’t losing time or anything. That’s just how I’d think if I was in the position. So I’m definitely coming from a place of wanting to help. But I could be totally off base. Maybe they are perfectly fine and more than happy with how they currently do things. The thing is though, they are leaving it up to interpretation and assumption.

well usually one piece normally is 4 eps a week, but switching to one pace which obviously drastically cuts episodes changes that. So if i were them id be operating it based on screentime per week. The average one pace episodes is 20-30 minutes, so it makes more sense to do at least 3 for a total of 1 hour 30 mins (10 more mins than if they were doing 4 normal episodes basically) rather than doing only 2 episodes for anywhere between 40 and 60 mins, which is obviously quite drastically less. And in the hypothetical that they did 2 one pace eps per week the whole way through the current arc they're on, they would basically be at a very similar point if they had stuck to the non one pace normal 4 eps, so its pretty counter intuitive.

if im being honest this cant happen for a long time since they have naruto and one piece running which are obviously super long shows. Also, this " balance " thing where they should only be watching a certain amount of shows, should be down to them and whether or not they feel like they're less interested in some shows compared to others, if they're able to sit down with the intention of wanting to enjoy everything they watch, the amount of shows they're doing now is fine. We dont know if this pausing is for scheduling, it probably isnt, so i dont think this is the problem

I’m gonna reiterate a point others have made just because I feel like the more people speak up for it, the more likely for it to be heard. It’s definitely disappointing about BB and I hope it comes back soon. But I think the issue here is the sheer amount of shows. I wouldn’t say drop anything yall have going now, because that would just be really disappointing for the people here for those shows, but I would really recommend focusing on what yall are currently doing and not picking up anything new. Would I personally like if yall just reacted to like 1-3 things at a time? Yeah because I feel like we would get more of that content at a time and yall could be more immersed. But I definitely understand that’s not what everyone wants. I think there could be a happy medium. 2 anime or animation 2 live action (1 western, 1 foreign) 1 movie at a time And then the Friday watch party Even I think that’s a lot, and I’m not saying that would be the best formula, just like an example. And that also leaves that wiggle room for shows that are currently airing without it piling on top even more. I think y’all are currently watching 9-10 things atm which is quite a lot! Not to mention erased and violet that haven’t been uploaded and sakamoto days that needs to be watched I believe? That’s a lot to be on y’all’s plate imo. There’s never gonna come a time where yall will run out of recommendations, and I think cutting down the amount of shows at once will actually get yall to see more in the long run, because it’s not taking so long to finish one thing. If that makes sense.

@Ados Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. 1) Good point, This was a pain point for a lot of us before but like you said they’ve been better with their communication so I forgot to mention. 2) I don’t think that just because they poll a show it means they have to or will watch it. I think they’re just gauging the community’s interest while planning out the schedule of shows they themselves are interested in watching. 3) Lack of engagement is a good reason to drop or pause a show especially if you’re trying to prioritize/manage channel growth and your own creative interests. That being said I don’t like it when it’s a show I’m watching but I’m not mad at it. Patreon is meant to support your creators, a $1-$10 subscriptions doesn’t mean we get to control everything they do. 4) We’ve all had weeks where we can binge a whole season and others where we can barely squeeze in an episode. I think the same grace should apply to them. If they had promised more than two One Piece uploads a week and weren’t delivering, I’d totally get the frustration, but didn’t they only promise two? If they’re meeting that, I don’t really see the issue. 5) I don’t think it’s a bad business decision but that is an interesting perspective. It does feel more like the girls’ first watch than a true rewatch for the guys, but I’m still enjoying it. Maybe they could do a post rewatch discussion after with just the guys so we can hear their rewatch experience/thoughts.

I run a business and I beg my customers to complain to me if they're unhappy for any reason, even if they're "rude" (lmao), and any sensible business has the same mindset. The worst case scenario is if my customers stopped buying from me for a reason that hasn't been communicated. Customers complaining is not only acceptible in a transactional relationship, it's NECESSARY for the benifit of BOTH parties. This alows the business to understand how to better serve the customers which makes them more valuable and more likely to grow, while making the customers happy at the same time.

I think Ados makes some good poins but honestly, not polling all the time is a good thing imo. Maybe it gives us some slop occasionally, but at other times it gives us gems that democracy would have never allowed. Even if it's 50/50, I'll take it.

1. Communication, although i feel its gotten a bit better recently. Communication and Transparency is important. 2. Polls, they rarely poll, and basically half of the stuff they watch isn't from a poll, for better or worse. Its about time a live action show should be polled, since there are people who don't want to watch a k-drama or a breaking bad rewatch. They haven't polled a live action since dark so like 6 months. 3. Watching stuff that's going to do well on youtube is a common and understandable move, but dropping or pausing shows for engagement reasons, if that's what this is, isn't a good decision. If you look at their views for their kdrama's compared to live actions the difference is night and day, but that shouldn't mean that they should just pump out kdrama's like no tomorrow. Otherwise once you build up that audience who is there for the kdrama's they aren't going to want anything else. A kdrama slot is fine but if they only watch what is doing good on youtube is not necessarily good for them or anyone who isn't a fan of those series and wants to see them watch genuinely GOAT contending shows like they've shown to have an interest in 4. Their one piece upload schedule has been lacking imo, havent seen anyone else complaining but after switching to one pace, they did 2 one pace eps per drop, so 4 a week for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then shamelessly switched to 1 one pace episode per drop, so 2 a week. And its been like that for almost 2 months now. I think 3 one pace eps is fair. If they started skypiea doing only 2 a week they would be on the same pace as if they had just done no one pace and 4 normal eps a week, or around it. Its counterintuitive and kinda shallow 5. I've enjoyed the aot rewatch, however prior when they were talking about the rewatch i assumed it'd be just the 5 boys picking up on detai;s and having a genuine discussion with no fear of spoilers. Instead, its really not a rewatch, its just us watching the 3 girls' first watch. We dont get to hear specifics on what the guys think in this " rewatch " so there's no point even calling it that. That said, once again, i am enjoying it, its just im not enjoying the rewatch, im enjoying the girls' first watch.

For how consistent they are in their weekly drops and how much content they’ve pushed out over the last two years, we can trust they wouldn’t do something like this without a good reason. I disagree, I would say having multiple different shows on the go at a time is good for their channel and bringing in bigger audiences. I personally don't mind rewatches and watch the shows/movies that I like, even if a few of them have seen it, and I feel many people probably also feel the same. And I don't really see paying for Patreon as buying a product, but as supporting Studio Gek. I feel that what is good for them is growth, as it will allow them to keep cranking out top tier reactions. Just hopefully not at the expense of their choices of their reactions and chosen shows/movies.

I agree that their business decisions aren't great but no great reaction channel sticks to 2-3 shows at a time lol. Their attack on titan rewatch is actually doing fairly well, despite them all having seen it, albeit the rewatch part isn't what's selling it, its the girls input as new watchers. And their breaking bad reactions have been fine, Jack, Mckay and Bradlyn basically hadn't seen any of the show. You could tell that Jack and Mckay didn't know anything past season 1. Not to mention that as they've gone through shows over time, if anything more shows are being watched that none of them have seen. At the start of the channel they were dwindling through all the most popular stuff and half of them had seen most of what they watched. So your point there is fairly ironic. Also, when they have 2 long running anime's, One Piece and Naruto that they're too far into, i don't know why you'd recommend dropping shows like its a feasible and sensible decision. Here we are with them pausing breaking bad and even that isn't getting a good reaction. The problem is that they want shows that do well on youtube, and then they're stuck adhering to a niche like kdrama's which are doing 3x aswell on youtube than anything else they post. That's the hurdle they need to get over. Its not a case of needing to drop shows or get through them at lightning speed

Feels like whoever is making the business decisions lately has been dropping the ball. The reason this reaction channel took off was because you were posting AOT reactions everyday without being bogged down with trash shows. You were clearly enjoying AOT and the audience could see that and it reflected in the views and subscriptions. Watching too many shows 1 or 2 episodes at a time just makes the reactions worse because you aren't as invested in the show and the audience can see that and tunes out. Also choosing to do Breaking Bad when all of you have already seen it is dumb. I would recommend going back to your roots and picking 1 or 2 shows and getting fully invested in watching them until the end. You guys obviously enjoy binging shows, the audience enjoys when you binge shows. You have plenty of great shows to binge. Stop trying to squeeze every penny from your reactions and just focus on watching shows you want to watch and people will see you enjoying the shows and tune in. Also stop picking shows that you have already watched. I know there are some people who will glaze you no matter what, but the vast majority of the people who are here are here for first time reactions. No one wants to watch reactions to shows you have already seen. This is also a problem with shows that most of you haven't seen but the one person who has dominates the whole reaction. If the creators prioritize growth, relevance, or other content over finishing a specific show, that's a valid choice. It's not just about interestб it's about where their time and energy make the most sense. I feel like if you start something you should commit to it no matter what. Otherwise you set a bad precedent and lose trust with your audience. At any point people will (correctly) feel that the rug may be pulled out from under them if they get invested in a series reaction. Losing your customers trust means losing customers. Since the Saturday BB uploads have been significatly delayed every time for several weeks, it makes me lean towards repeated schedule conflicts, but I feel like they would just say that if it was the case. The non-explination has me concerened it's just for youtube views, but it could be a combination of overloaded schedules so they had to pick one to remove so they picked the lowest performing series. But wait, they're substituting more content in its place, which means it's not overloaded, which means... Oh dang. Rip. Just speculation though it could be something random.
