The food that they are always eating is called Takoyaki. They are like a side/ street food. They are wheat flour batter balls filled with octopus. They are SOOOOOO good, one of my favorites. They're the best right when served so when they're still really hot but soooooo good.

It’s totally realistic for them to just pass on a "you should really wear something else" after all that emphasis was put on being more honest and open in almost all these characters relationships to Mob. I’d get it if it was something like "had this haircut for years", but again it’s just a shirt. This stupid complaint of mine really highlights how amazing this show is lol

This kind of stuff is realistic just because you've been through stuff with people doesn't necessarily mean it's easy to tell them something they don't want to hear

2025-04-09 16:52:48 +0000 UTCYes actually! That shirt is a sort of “knockoff” version of the monkey brand that teru likes and they only got it because mobs budget was so low. Though I wouldn’t say that does teru any favours… In the official fanbook made by ONE in 2022 (take this with a grain of salt since there isn’t exactly an official translation) we get to see what I believe is the actual look of the monkey brand. And it’s uh well, it’s definitely not the worst part of his outfit in that particular panel, I’ll say that much. The official promo art of the anime also seems to let teru show off more of his sense of style. He leans more into wearing a lot of flashy colours and patterns there than in the story. I’d say that’s where he gets most of his reputation of bad fashion choices from. It’s kinda a running joke in the fanbase.

I feel like we’ve established enough of a bond and went through enough hardships with most of these characters for them to think nothing of just telling Mob that the shirt sucks, or that he’s slowly turning a little delusional when it comes to the whole being popular phase stuff. The way that EVERYONE hid the truth from him was so weird and I can only justify it by them not knowing what to do not to shatter his ego, but even then he went through a lot worse and came out chill as a cucumber so why the hesitation now?

I mean he chose to walk around with that tower of a wig back in season 1, this monkey shirt feels well in line with what he'd wear/recommend.

It's incredibly well written in way where people can sympathize with the characters throughout the show. So if you found them boring or if you don't care for the characters, you probably just don't relate to them. I would suggest finishing a couple more episodes, but if you still feel the same after that, it's just not your type of show.

The seasons usually use the first few episodes of each season to set the tone and introduce the characters and ideas for the season before they slam on the gas pedal. You might still not like it but I'd recommend giving it another watch if you're still curious.

But when I decided to watch the full anime, I finished it in one sitting. Never have I cried with the tears of happiness in my life as while watching the finale, the show is just like 100% kindness and positive values. it's now one of my absolute favorites. It is a really wholesome show🙌🏻 my eng grammar left the chat, so sorry for any mistakes

It's one of my personal favorite anime's ever because of the simple concept, great animation/style, and all of the likable characters. Sure, they're easy to understand, but I think "uninteresting" is pretty harsh (especially when you've only watched a couple of episodes out of a 38 episode show). It's also pretty highly regarded for having one of the best endings of any anime period, the beginning is just what lays the groundwork for it.

The start can seem slow but the story ramps up fast. I know a lot of people are put off by a different art style compared to many anime but it's endearing and the show overall has some absolute peak moments
