The amazing thing about the scene with Jesse watching out the curtains while smoking the bowl is that 1) methamphetamines are an "upper", which means it's going to raise anxiety levels, adrenaline, and for a lot of addicts it's going to cause paranoia. 2) Even with the meth making him extra paranoid, Jesse has EVERY reason to be scared out of his mind. So although him mistaking the missionaries for a threat is a nice bit of dark humor, I feel like that scene is so well crafted in giving an insight into how his mind his crumbling.

2025-02-06 09:00:17 +0000 UTCJesse being back home really hits hard. My take on Jake is that he took on the role of the perfect son to please their parents (due to Jesse becoming an addict/burnout). Winning so many awards, being top of his class, etc. But I believe Jake also did all this hard work to gain attention and love from their parents as well. As he pointedly says, "I'm the favorite? Yeah right 🙄" They must've tried so hard to help Jesse and they must worry all the time about his wellbeing. So not as much time for them to acknowledge the poor little brother. Just such a tough situation all around

Thanks for putting Bradlynn on the spot lol I agree with everything she said about Jesse's personality and loneliness. I do also think he contributed to his parent's "parenting style" towards Jacob. Or they could've always been like this and that's why he rebelled. 🤷♀️ Either reason could be why he took the fall. He sees himself in Jacob or he wants his parents to have a child who's not a "screw up." Shows he's not completely hopeless. Walt's story is just depressing. I agree it's tragic BUT not wanting to be a burden to his family is going to be a burden to his family. It's already causing strains. Skyler, Hank, & Marie have good intentions but, you should ask the person with the condition. I hate when people talk about it around you. I can just imagine how he felt in that moment. Hope we get more epsiodes like this. It gives us more insight into their characters.
