2025-02-04 03:04:44 +0000 UTC@Gabe Hmm actually, I realised after I made this comment (from other fans who know a little more about the A1 pictures decisions in adapting the anime) that the phrasing that Il-hwan uses doesn't necessarily mean that he knows Jinwoo is the catastrophe he's referring to, as the studio is apparently following the novel rather than the manhwa, which was the one I was quoting from. So it technically isn't(?) a spoiler, since the meaning is unclear but I'll be happy to remove that part anyway for peace of mind.

Because the Hunter's Association told him to come back in 3 days, which is when he'll receive his new license. So currently, based on his license, which he needs for verification purposes to join the raid, it's very unlikely that he'll be accepted HAHAHA! OH btw!! The hunters can't use technological tools inside the gates, which is why they're doing manual labour! Guns and modern human weapons don't work on the magic beasts either! They mentioned this in the manhwa! On a more entertaining note, idk why they took out this small but very cool detail, but when Choi Jong-in goes to use his magic in the dungeon, he actually uses the cigarette he was smoking to ignite flames HAHAHA! I was hoping it would be included so that's a shame! Last lil detail is that when Cha Hae-in walks out of the gate, Jinwoo actually speculates that she's stronger than Choi Jong-in, which is kind of insane if you think about it.

So back then, he WAS still at E-rank! Answering Cannon's question about the five guilds: Only the Hunter's guild has two S-ranks currently! It's why they're considered the best guild in South Korea, with Choi Jong-in and Cha Hae-in. The White Tiger (Baek Yoonho), Fame, and Reaper guilds each have 1 S-rank. And the Knight's guild has no S-ranks! The last two S-rank hunters are Go Gunhee and another hunter who hasn't appeared since season 1! This was mentioned by Go Gunhee in the manhwa, but among S-rank hunters, it's actually impossible to measure the exact amount of power each S-rank has. Otherwise, each S-rank would have a reading like S, SS, or SSS, etc. So it's pretty common for S-ranks to be ambiguous in strength up until they fight and someone wins. But basically, there are HUGE gaps in between normal ranks like A, B and C, and EVEN BIGGER gaps btw S-rank hunters of different calibers! "What if he sold it to the ultimate weapon guy?" The funny thing is, in the manhwa, Jinwoo DOES mention that Choi Jong-in would probably spend a fortune to get his hands on the Sphere of Avarice HAHAHAH

Well the good news is that he DOES get C-rank! Which is what he was aiming for in the manhwa! Congrats to him haha! - When the two employees were confused about Jinwoo's ranking being an error, the Chief actually panicked a whole lot more because the last time they got a result like that was when Cha Hae-in was evaluated as the ninth S-rank hunter in Korea! The girl was a rookie, which was why she didn't know an error meant that the mana levels of the hunter exceeds the measuring capacity of the machine:) - What Jinwoo meant when he walked straight past Choi Jong-in was actually "Sorry, but I'm in a hurry." because at this point, he's still focusing hard on leveling up to get the cure for his mom's illness. He wasn't necessarily trying to blow Jong-in off haha! - When Jong-in sees Baek Yoonho running into the Hunter's Association building, he actually says "He must have transformed to run all the way here from the opposite side of the city." which kind of gives us a clue about what Yoonho's abilities might be haha! - When Baek Yoonho watches Choi Jong-in walk out, he actually calls Jong-in a snake in his head LMFAO - Go Gunhee's reason for asking Jinwoo to join the Hunter's Association also stems from the fact that he's old. In the manhwa, his thoughts revolve around finding a successor for his position, should he pass on at any point of time! - What Jinwoo's dad actually says is something along the lines of this: "Don't you ever step foot in Korea. I'm not saying this for my my son's sake, I'm saying it for yours. You will never rest in peace, even in death."

Great episode, as you guys said it was definitely a "set up" ep but it was still great. We learn more about the world and the power balance in their country. Only up from here.
