I had one that placed Jinwoo as the final boss, the king statue made him the player so that he could be the strongest boss, which is why there has been moments where the system threatens him with death if he shows weakness. Just my thoughts while watching thus far as well.

I didnt really notice any scenes getting removed, maybe just Iron bringing him the fat demon head, which ones are you talkin about?

Of course, for the Geks, it'd be best if they only read the corresponding chapters to the anime after the entire season is aired, but for others, I think this is a great way to bolster the experience provided by the anime through absorbing one of the original art forms it was in. (IF ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW WHERE TO READ IT LEMME KNOW HAHA) Solo Leveling doesn't have too much dialogue to begin with, since it's mostly action, but there are a lot of small details that are excluded due to the nature of anime as a medium and due to the studio's decisions to keep Solo Leveling as serious as possible. The manhwa is honestly a treasure trove for gamers who really want to understand the mechanics of all his skills, what they do for him exactly, and how he uses them by wracking his brain at the last minute every time he's on the verge of getting heavily injured. ->In this episode, you'd find it difficult to see why Jinwoo used Ruler's Hand the way he did to avoid Vulcan's club in mid air. But he did so because even though he can't push Vulcan away since his proficiency with the skill is still too low for huge objects, he CAN use the recoil from the action of pushing Vulcan to propel himself backward and avoid getting hit by the club. Jinwoo explains his thoughts in the manhwa, but because it would be too hectic in the anime and too slow for them to animate his thoughts, they settled for showing it (which you might understand after a few watches, but definitely does not do justice to his thought process).

2025-01-19 06:27:59 +0000 UTCAnother detail that wasn't brought up in the episode was: Jinwoo's dad was brought in to the Federal Bureau of Hunters in the US, where he sat in that interrogation room until Hwang Dongsoo arrived to act as an interpreter. However, in that scene, Hwang Dongsoo is actually tasked with determining whether or not Il-hwan (the second letter is an L btw) is a magic beast or a human. Of course, we know that Il-hwan is a human, because Jinwoo mentioned in season 1 episode 1 that his dad had gone missing, and because his files show that Jinwoo is his son. BUT, in the manhwa, once Hwang Dongsoo realises that Jinwoo is his son, he purposefully provokes Il-hwan by telling him Jinwoo is dead (which he fully believes, because he thinks Jinwoo died in the Red Gate), so that he can label him as a magic beast if he attacks him. So basically, he's a petty s-o-a-b who couldn't get his revenge on Jinwoo personally so now he's using Jinwoo's dad as some sort of replacement for his vengeance by labelling him a threat to humanity and trying to get him killed. But ofc, that works out horribly, cause Jinwoo's dad is strong asf. Also, Il-hwan used to be a hunter. In the manhwa, Hwang Dongsoo even says that with the achievements he got before he went missing, he would have been ranked pretty high. The reason he wasn't known much was because ten years ago, the concept of ranking systems still hadn't made their debut yet since that was when gates first started appearing, so Il-hwan most likely didn't stand out back then, but he was apparently still really strong.

2025-01-19 06:19:03 +0000 UTCI know the anime is trying its best to keep the pacing quick but still understandable, I thought you guys would like to know some of the details that were left out here but were in the manhwa: The male hunter who survived the Red Gate incident together with Heejin, the mage with green eyes, and Songyi, the high school girl Jinwoo brought along, was actually supposed to be the one who informed Jinho's father about Jinwoo's involvement in the Red Gate incident. That's how Jinho's father deduced that Jinwoo was a possible S-rank hunter and that Jinho probably got his help to get his guildmaster's license. Hwang Dongsoo is actually Korean and he would have been one of South Korea's S-rank hunters had he not immigrated to the US to be one of its hunters. The reason he left Korea behind (and "betrayed his country", which Woo Jinchul mentions in the manhwa) was because one of America's largest guilds, the Scavenger Guild, scouted him and offered him better benefits than what South Korea probably provided him (this is mentioned in the manhwa at an earlier point). That's why when first see him, he's in the US, not Korea, and he had to travel back and forth for his revenge for his brother.

We will see how the pacing of season 2 turns out when the whole season is out, only by then can we judge how good the season turned out. My biggest concerns after seeing this episode however are the small details that they left out, not all of them are too important but, really good and fun to know, some adds more to the hype and some more to the suspense, which makes the whole experience just better.

Confrontation between Jinwoos dad and Hwang could of been better too. Also the conversation between Jinho and his dad, there was supposed to be a third person coming to tell the dad something but I guess it's not too bad of a remake of the scene. I seriously hope this doesn't become another God of Highschool kind of pacing. Good episode but could of been better Imo. I recommend you guys read the missing parts that the anime left out just so you can enjoy and understand more. The manhwa is sick, it's also like watching the anime anyway but with way more info and proper pacing lol.

S rank is basically from certain power level to infinity, one S class can be far stronger than another. The mana measuring device used for ranking hunters can only read up to a certain limit, and anyone who surpasses that threshold is classified as S rank. There is also a rank above S, but its given based on merits, since you can't really measure their levels they have accomplished extraordinary things which make them worth to get the title. Theres VERY few hunters with this title, I'm pretty sure you will meet at least one this season. Right now Jinwoo is the level of a mid tier S rank. When Jinwoo squared up against the redhead guy leader of the white tiger guild Jinwoo would've 100% lost.

Also if they were to do that, they'd either have to change the setting entirely to japan, or make basically the whole anime korean dub. Same thing with Vinland, it wouldn't have a line of japanese

Shame it's not possible in the anime. Anyways if one of you has some free time on their hands and wants to, I do recommend reading the manhwa as well, as the anime advances. It'd make a more enjoyable experience; extra scenes that have been skipped, u can read all notifications,... (That goes for the Geks and the viewers too :) ). This is chapter 60 in the manhwa! (Technically the first half of 61 but only read till 60 to avoid spoilers)
