We already know he is a weakly, but the determination and willingness to put his body and life on the line for his crew and his belief in Luffy is how he is able to make his mark in the moment; while chopper does the heavy lifting.

2025-01-16 23:35:11 +0000 UTCrelatable, love the manga so much but the anime can be pretty unbearable sometimes, mostly with filler, unnecessarily slow pacing (especially in fight scenes) and poorly animated fight scenes with outdated sound design that often doesn't even match what is happening on screen making it misleading. Cant wait for the One Piece remake to hopefully give justice to this masterpiece of a manga.

I love alot of the humor in early OP and am not bothered by it in 'serious moments' i actually like that about OP'. but i can understand that its not for everyone. Humor is always different for people. For me It would be different if this was just randomly in a show that is meant to be serious but OP has always been a cartoonish show with alot of over the top stuff and when i watch it i just expect that. But like you said it gets more serious stuff in later arcs which i think the boys love.

2025-01-16 18:06:35 +0000 UTCYeah facts, don't get me wrong the craziesness and insanity Oda cooks into the stories is definitely one of the reasons One Piece is so popular and beloved, but yeah he definitely gets so much better at incorporating a goofy aspect and moments into a better grounded verse where there's certain things it feels like he's not willing to compromise about the story and worldbuilding just for wackiness or a cheap laugh.

But Oda definitely comes into his own with more serious plot points. And I think his strength (alongside world building) is the juxtaposition of deeper points and stories into the goofiness. He does it well :)

2025-01-16 17:50:54 +0000 UTCNgl all the things that piss you guys off in general about where one piece is now, like elements of these two fights or stupid cartoonish plot points that aren't really funny but just take away from the validity of the plot, also pissed me off so much when I was first watching these episodes haha. Even whenever one of these things come up and I can see some of you guys getting annoyed or rolling your eyes, it reminds me exactly of my experience haha. I wanted more seriousness from the story and it's topics, the fights, the villains, the main characters. Or at least more consistency with the plot's overall scaling and logic used in the show, and less of some of these not that funny, pretty annoying, overdone gag moments like when Luffy gets his feet stuck fighting arlong. I guess why I'm writing this is because I think I'm such a similar person to what a lot of you are looking for and wanting in this show right now Geks. And I just want to say all these things I was looking for I did get! So bear with it guys haha I promise its worth it. Pretty soon Oda really comes in to his own with the writing and the verse itself. There will so many serious topics, character moments, plotlines, villains, amazing fights, and less of all the things that take away from these. It's easy for everyone that's watched one piece, including me to look back and now enjoy these episodes because I've gotten my fulfilment of all the wonderful things I so desperately wanted this show to do more of, but I just want to say I do get that frustration some of you are feeling haha. But trust the process, it was so sudden and unexpected I went from being annoyed by this show to it being my favourite oat, I couldn't tell you when the change happened.
