Also you cant add wind to chidori, because chidori is lightning lol. Chidori is pretty much a weaker (stage 1) form of rasengan with lightning added to it.

The frustration is that they are both standing there guarding Shikamaru while not making any effort to be involved otherwise. They could use some kind of ranged jutsu to help from their position. The one guy even uses a water style technique as we saw once they engaged with Kakuzu, meaning he potentially could have washed away Hidan's ritual circle. They also could have had one of them stay with Shikamaru while the other disarmed Hidan when Shikamaru had him with shadow possesion.

I can't be the only one perpetually frustrated each episode but I'll see this through to the end. Also if someone who knows water style goes up against Hidan his curse is useless, because all they have to do is cover the area with water and then he can't make his circle without the blood washing away. Also if he were up against someone who is a close range beast like Guy he might be able to get some of your blood but he should never have enough of an opening to make a circle to begin with. They yap too much though and just let the enemy set up whatever they want.

Yeah this is true, but far less so than Naruto. And the last 50 episodes or so have absolutely zero censorship, it's very, very gory compared to what it once was. There are multiple beheadings, one is just a head exploding into blood. If you haven't seen it I really recommend you check it out, just imagine if Naruto was adapted into a really dark and savage tone and that's a lot of the new Bleach, kind of why it's painful seeing them not pick Bleach but OP and Naruto, which never even come close to that level imo.

Obviously the 2 guys are protecting shikamaru so his jutsu cannot be canceled by the other guy, what if the other guy actually goes for shikamaru if they leave him.. then hidan can just stab himself instantly and kill asuma , he says he will not intervere but why would they believe his words. i dont get the first frustration of that, ofc when he reattaching the head they couldve done something like brig said, if the frustrating would be about that i would get it but before that it was completely justified to not leave shikamaru in my opinion.

I don't think they ever break down the logistics of how their ranks work, If they did I forgot it. My head cannon was always Genin are newly graduated ninja. obvi. Typically only do low rank missions. Chunin Can now Lead Teams on missions. and can go on missions seperate from their genin team. Once a full team of genin reach chunin their team basically disolves and they are assigned to new higher ranked teams/ or teams may just be mission based. or they take jobs like Military members on base. like the 2 chunin with shikamarus team. they work the gate check in. Jonin Can now lead genin teams. I believe they go over this early OG that the genin team leads are deliberately selected. and Jonin can now select other "branches" of the ninja military lol like anbu or intelligence or medical. That was always my head canon at least. So i believe Asuma is Jonin, but the others are chunin.

Ever hear about a guy named Oppenheimer? I'd say the guy is also kinda weak, a scientist type. Probably wouldn't put up much of a fight. Didn't matter at all when you count his death toll. Did you think he was considered weak by his superiors after he invented the worst weapon of mass destruction the world has ever seen? It's the end result that matters. Any person's individual specialty or characteristic can be amazingly useful, or completely useless depending on the circumstances. If you are walled into a room with no doors and windows, no amount of big brain would help you get out, so hulkish strength is useful to break walls... but in that fight with Hidan, no matter how strong they were, if they couldn't figure out his ability, they would have all died. Shikamaru is just suited for some things and for some, he isn't.

I dont think Hidan is that strong 1v1 if u know his ability (otherwise yes, youre cooked). I feel like its easy to counter. If he licks your blood, just tackle him out of the circle 😂 or keep trying to break the circle with your foot. You’d have to be strong enough to be able to just fight him in hand to hand of course. But once he lost his head, he was pretty much done for if not for Kakuzu. Just throw his head into a lake or off a cliff 😂 Kakuzu is definitely stronger and faster and can detach his limbs with those noodles 🥲 ngl very handy (pun intended) when youre on the couch and the remote is too far away 😂

Well yeah even for Shikamaru stans, it’s hard to argue against that. Asuma even mentions that his insane iq makes up for his lackluster combat abilities. But regarding him being drained while using his shadow possession jutsu only a few times - all of the Akatsuki have great deals of chakra so in order for him to hold someone in place who is physically much stronger than him - he has to expend great amounts of chakra - on top of already not having the biggest chakra reserve to start with

Them hating on Izumo and Kotetsu had me dead 😂 but I agree with Brig that they’re doing their job by protecting Shikamaru. It’s like a game of shogi, where their role is to hold their position and defend a more important piece. Since Asuma is the strongest and the only one who can somewhat keep up with the enemy, he’s comfortable being in the front, taking the big risks. The best thing Izumo and Kotetsu could do was stay in their formation and hope Asuma cooked, rather than having one of them try to help. Since there’s a risk that Kakuzu would step in and body that person trying to help, or even worse, go straight for their king now that the defense has been weakened

Finally, we’re past the boring part of Shippuden. I’m glad Carter felt that jump because until now it was super annoying watching episodes with awful pacing where nothing important really happened. When you binge it, you don’t feel how bad the pacing is as much, but since you guys can only watch a few episodes a week, it’s way harder to avoid. So yeah, I’m really glad that’s over. Also, I agree—it was so obvious Asuma was going to die, but his death scene was still really good, and honestly, his death was pretty necessary.
