The Expanse is trash. Just network type writing and plot lines. Not for one minute do you think the main characters are actually going to die, and even if one does, it’s only for shock value. As for the purpose of that scene; I'm sure it's about showcasing Claudia's ability to manipulate situations and people, despite her being younger and physically smaller than Tronte. It illustrates her cunning and determination to assert herself and gain control in a world where characters are often trapped by their past choices.

I don't know if anyone else has said this already but just in case nobody has: When old Claudia is talking to young Egon, she's adressing him with the informal "Du" you usually use when talking to someone you already know and have some type of relationship with like family or friends, while Egon is using the formal "Sie" to adress her, since he doesn't know her or at least doesn't know that he knows her. This further explains the uneasy look on Egon's face (additionally to the other obvious reasons, like her demeanor and appearance), because it's usually seen as kind of disrespectful to just adress someone with the informal version without prior agreements to do so. Just a little fun fact for none native speakers.

Hate to post this on a Dark discussion, but since you guys mentioned the next live action. FOR ALL THE GOT, LAST KINGDOM, AND VIKING FANS - have you guys seen a show called Spartacus? AMAZING but not as well known show, with a rating of 8.5 on IMDB. It has the best action and so many plot twists. I don’t know how this show never gets mentioned. Trust me, you will love it.

Yeah, the misunderstanding came from the sentence "I think she knew it" which referred to Tannhaus thinking that old Claudia already knew that another traveller would show up and explain the device. I see the confusion due to wording, but we already know the other traveller is Stranger Jonas. Because we've already seen the scene where it happened. It was about 18 minutes into episode 1x10.

When you last did the polls, I remember Vikings being ahead of Dark, but maybe I'm misremembering. Once you guys added Shogun, it immediately gained the majority. Considering you've watched Shogun and are finished with GoT (aside from potential GoT-related content), I feel like either Vikings or The Last Kingdom should be the next live-action shows due to their positions on previous polls. Like yeah it is frustrating to tell the people from the past that they can’t know something yet but the point is what Claudia says “things have to happen exactly as they always have” even a minor slip up could have disastrous implications and knowing what happens is one of the only ways Claudia can have some sort of control over time. And yes Claudia is not only doing this cause of the apocalypse but also for Regina, a running theme of the show highlighted in this episode is that parents will do everything for their children

Claudia(old) definitely cooked in that convo about free will with Noah. She had his sister show him the article about her dead in the forest and then dared him to make a choice. Since he saw the future article... it HAD to happen, solidifying that there is no free will.

There is no extra SHE who explained the device, Jonas showed him in Season 1. We saw it. He was saying "She" In reference to Claudia's older self. Many characters will speak like this instead of constantly having to say future self/older self/past self.

ughhh i have to be SO CAREFUL commenting on these reactions now that ive finished the show.. i almost just ripped them to shreds for something that i thought should have been more obvious but luckily i googled just to double check if it is like an actual confirmation/reveal that hasnt happened yet and sure enough.. i guess it is made clear in future episodes. i had definitely picked up on it by this point but i was watching alone and super dialed.

The White Devil is introduced this episode. First by Helge in 1986 saying "No one can change the past, not even the White Devil." Egon then says "You said that before when you were a kid." But we don't see that. Then Egon asks both Ulrich and Ines about it later in the episode but they know nothing about it. Noah's Sister is named Agnes Nielsen, her name has been said since Season 1 many times.
