Also, Brig saying Hinata will spike at the winning point (since they've watched ep 24 already so i say it here) is really on point. Actually, what I love about Haikyu is how it shows not only the best moments of Hinata and Kageyama, but every member has their own spotlight. Not only with Karasuno but as well as with different teams. Such a realistic anime that made you feel something. <3

2024-10-23 17:41:19 +0000 UTC2:12 yes, Brig I'm with you lol Episode 22, Yamaguchi finally controlling his serve and doing so many points is my absolute favorite moment in the whole season. Every time I remember the first time this episode aired it gets me in the feels. I'm like a proud parent to that boy 😭❤️ If anyone didn't realize, during the commercials interlude, in Ep22 after his big scene, Yamaguchi finally gets a good serve there too!! In relation to what Carter said about they loosing the set despite what Yamaguchi did. I always see it as personal growth more than what was the outcome in the match. Yamaguchi was finally able to be confident and make 5 points (!) for his team. From the scared boy that got 1 miss and 1 lucky point before, that's a huge improvement, like the episode title said it all. Also the team mentality got boosted. They were loosing 19-23 and ended on 28-26 it's definitely not the same. They were in a bad position before Yamaguchi's serve, they probably would have lost 19-25 and in low spirit probably, at least some of them, but after Yamaguchi getting them so many points everyone was focused on how good he did it and that actually cheer them up. Either way, third set next update baby!!!

But more importantly, the Iwaizumi love from Cannon?? LOVE TO SEE IT IWA IS AMAZING Regarding the frustration of Yamaguchi scoring 5 points in a row (assisted or not), I totally understand. It's always annoying whenever you're on the verge of winning after a great comeback, only to lose in terms of technique, composure, luck, or whatever. However, to be fair, it is A LOT better for Karasuno to lose the second set while their morale is still high. The vibe of the loss also really matters in a game like this. And if their spirits are even more fueled by this loss (that wasn't completely soul-crushing), they also have a very high chance of winning the last set. Though that remains to be seen in the next few episodes. So excited to see your reactions to the last set!!

The positions on the court start from the back-right corner and they move 1 position clockwise every time a point is scored when the other team is serving. Meaning if Oikawa is serving but Karasuno does a point, they rotate. As for Hinata going in and out after Yamaguchi's serve, that's because when you sub a player in volleyball, they can only be sub back with the same player. So basically, since Hinata was out so Yamaguchi could serve, Yamaguchi cannot sub with Noya, Hinata needs to go in first and then change with Noya. Also if the libero goes out, they need to wait at least 1 rally to get in again. That's why you sometimes don't see Noya in the court.

Same with tsukki when he was subbed out for Suga. Also hinata has been fooled by seijoh's decoys repeatedly in the match. For now, hinata's only effective offensively.

Tsuki was there to witness it and had it recorded. Oikawa promised never to target Tsuki again with his serves. 😂😂😂 It's an extra panel in the manga, where Oikawa also said that he was "not bothered" about Shimizu ignoring him (but it did).

When he goes in, he subs in for Tsukishima or Hinata, depending on who is in the back line for that rotation. Tsuki and Hinata are opposite positions in the rotation so Noya can always sub out for one of them. Since Yamaguchi subbed in for Hinata to serve and went on a run, Hinata was absent for like a 6 point stretch. Then, because Hinata would have been in the back line, Noya subbed in and Hinata stayed out. Oikawa served the last 2 points so Hinata never got a chance to go back in.

2024-10-23 05:37:25 +0000 UTCjack the reason hinata subbed in for yamaguchi then switched with noya is because the libero can only switch in and out freely with two specific players; those being hinata and tsuki. Hinata serves and then switches with noya bc he doesn’t play back row. Since they put in yamaguchi as a pinch server for hinata, he needed to be subbed back in for noya to then switch out. And it looked like hinata barely played bc he didn’t have many highlight moments since oikawa has him figured out and there were long serve rotations where he wasn’t in it. Remember that he never plays back row other than his serves so he’s only on the court half of the rotations

2024-10-23 05:19:44 +0000 UTCHey so the reason Hinata wasn’t in for the last rotations of the 2nd set was because he would’ve been in the back row, where they had Noya instead. If Hinata was in the back row the only attacks he could do would’ve been the back attack, which he failed at earlier in the game, and he also would’ve had to receive Oikawa’s serves. So coach swapped in Noya as the libero, which is also why Hinata went in for Yamaguchi then swapped immediately back out. Sorry that was long winded but hope it helps explain a bit!
