That scene with Ennoshita in the bathroom is very easily misunderstood. I know bc I got it after rewatching it a couple of times. At first you think that he is not happy about his performance, but, if you notice when they first see Daichi after the match was over, Ennoshita sighs in relief, anybody can think it's because Daichi is ok (which in part is one of the reasons) but later when we see him in the bathroom he is thinking to himself "you have to think you are gonna defeat the next opponent that comes around, you idiot" he never says it explicitly but you kinda understand he was relief because he didn't have to worry about the next match since Daichi was fine, Daichi will be playing, not him so he was beating himself in the bathroom because in a sense he ran away again, "don't you dare relax now!" he thought. There have been other situations like this one that I have manage to understand after multiple rewatches, sometimes there are subtle clues or just glances that says A LOT and are easy to miss on a first watch... Ugh I love Haikyuu so much 🤧

Great reactions! Ennoshita was a good substitute captain. He has some skill, but you can tell he has a ways before he's on the same level as Daichi with receiving. I like how the battle shifted from captain vs. Captain to Takeru vs. Hinata. They are both inspired by the Little Giant which is also great. I felt bad for Yamaguchi. I get why he played it safe, but he needs to have more faith in himself. McKay that comment was savage! I'm excited for the next set of reactions!

Hey so it might be a bit out of place, but I've been wanting to talk about it for a while. Haikyuu has a lot of themes of class division (poor vs rich) and it is shown through subtle yet interesting details 1. For example, Karasuno's volleyball gym has a stage. Since public schools usually don't have separate gyms for that, they reuse the gym as the concert hall from time to time. As you've seen before this doesn't apply for Shiratorizawa as a extreely wealthy school. 2. On the note of public schools, another reason why Nekoma and Karasuno were able to form this kinship and have their matches be called 'battle at the dumpster' is also because both schools are public. Nekoma has a stage in their gym as well (though. their gym is def bigger). As crows and cats they scavenge and live on grit. 3. Also, Hinata literally RIDES a bicycle EVERYDAY to school through the mountains. Because unlike shiratorizawa Karasuno High School doesn't have dormitories. Hell, Shiratorizawa is an ACADEMY not even a high school by its title. 4. Don't forget how school doesn't have enough money to fund coach Ukai. A majority of other teams have 2 coaches who are payed. And Karasuno is so underfunded that thier main coach works for free. That's all for now, but I try adding more information as the show progresses. Paying attention to such details really helps to have a deeper understanding of the show. That’s why the “Shoyo from concrete” phrase is so important. Our boys come from working class families. Who buy their own shoes, while powerhouses provide the same brand of shoes to their players, who don’t have everything presented on the platter.
