Because in Japan, it’s relatable to be high school then university and after leaving high school you either try to join the workforce as is, or killed yourself studying to get into an university to then enter the workforce. Your free time, which given the already enormous pressure in their youths to perform (there's school entrance tests, not only to high school, but middle and primary ones as well), was barely existent, it will now effectively die, so where could you even have an story set in the real world where there's people still able to enjoy their lives?

Super understandable. I love this manga, but I was thinking that the Geks would drop this because of those scenes too. Bit of a spoiler, but those kinds of things do not happen later on. There are some rare dubious scenes here and there, but the story gets so much better. It's epic and amazing, much better than Demon Slayer imo. It's sort of like My Dress Up Darling. Lots of people didn't like the fanservice and sexual innuendo, but as someone who's also been reading the manga for years now, those things happen less and less frequently as the story goes on, and its focus shift to telling a good story with less of those obvious baits for a certain public. Hope you can get past this fanservice-y at the start and give it another chance. It's worthy it. Tamo junto!

I actually understand your sentiment. It does create hype. Alot of recent releases have felt like something was missing. I'll give this one a chance to see how I feel, but I think it's just a matter of the times. Maybe bc it's easier for media now to be influenced by media of this past decade, and because of easier access to the internet, memes and culture than before. Also it's much easier to overhype a flashy new show on tiktok(art styles, storytelling + attention spans change) bc we weren't doing that a decade ago (I feel like I'm not even old enough to say this).

Listen, I’m not usually a dub over sub voucher… but the dub has a wayyy better portrayal for this anime in particular. Really gives the Rick and Morty vibes it tries to embody, and the dialogue is just funnier. Recommend rewatching on your own to see, already know the masses gonna prefer sub tho.

The difference between this and Ninja Kamui is that Dan da dan has a manga. Ninja Kamui was an anime original so there was no way to know if it was going to be good or a disappointment. We always have to gamble with anime originals lol

For me, it's been starting since Demon Slayer, I read the entire Manga, I thought it was incredible, but when the adaptation came I didn't like it, since then new animes haven't pleased me, not even jjk, its kinda sad ngl

It's probably just a question of taste. I've read mangas with this feel to it since I was a teenager and I haven't been a teenager in over a decade, but my interest in them hasn't waned.
