My issue with Asahi is that he's overhyped. Asahi constantly fails his spikes and serves, while Tanaka constantly gets them in. It's hilarious how much more successful Tanaka is when you start seeing it. I think Asahi is kinda mid and Tanaka is actually way more goated than he seems.

The timeskip part of the manga solidifies that fact. 🥹 He's crazy good but also never stopped to improve and I truly love that about him. 2. HINATA. BEST BOY. Period. Hinata inspired me so much -his never say die attitude always gets me. Its a common anime trope but Hinata just give it a few more ounce of relatability- wanting something so much, giving all your time and energy and just pushing forward! 3. Noya- he's so dependable. As a viewer, I also feel a sense of confidence when he is playing. 4. ALL OF KARASUNO (I just love everyone in Karasuno 🥲) Non-Karasuno: 1. Iwaizumi (Aoba Josai)-> he's my type. 🤣🤣🤣jk. I love a confident wing spiker who can beat Oikawa's ass! 2. Shinsuke Kita (Inarizaki)-> love his backstory!!! (this is a team way way in the future seasons😆) 3. Akashi (Fukurodani)-> bokuto's setter. I love how unfazed and calm he is when playing with an overly emotional spiker 😆

He's mostly just mean and Hinata feeds off it because he wants to beat him. Alt team best boy - Kenma - "...I don't like getting tired. I hate running, I just want to sit down." - It hit so real to be pretty good at a sport while rarely enjoying the play. Growing up in an athletic family, the skills were trained in but the effort required to play is the WORST. Most relatable character.

And the side eye of Jack and Carter for Cannon disliking Asahi for being too nice was HILARIOUS! It's also interesting that the two who disliked Haikyu the most (Brig and McKay) like Tsukki haha. I can't wait for them to watch the rest of the season! Carter I gotta say we're the same when a losing team gets dominated by a super strong team, I can't help but feel bad for them. You're all going to have to get used to back stories for every opposing team though, that's just what Haikyu is, character-building and backstories. That's why it's my favorite anime of all time and how I don't get tired watching it tons of times with other reactors.

Sometimes he will give low key responses that may piss people off that's all If you notice, the only person he actively starts trouble with/ messes with is Hinata. I remember a scene back in S1, he and Hinata were in the background of a conversation between somebody that I can't remember. We see Tsukki pushing some sort of bottle on Hinata's forehead while grinning cause Hinata's shorter arms can't reach him lol I believe Tsukki actually likes Hinata. To him, Hinata is such an interesting character who is the opposite of the low key him. Hinata is also amusing to mess with.

Being the ace you need to be even cocky sometimes, a person that gets defeated mentally easily cannot be my ace on the team, most people in sports feel comfortable when playing with their ace because he is always there even when losing you will see him unfazed, but Asahi in my opinion does not deserve being the Ace in all means, I would rather call Tanaka the ace, at least he is always confronting anyone who tries to bring down anyone on the team

And I have my own 188cm Tsukki at home. He has the same kind of hair, glasses, face & body shape as well as similar vocal tone. Like Tsukki who likes to mess with the shorty Hinata, my own Tsukki likes to tease his little sister lol And he's quite smart like Tsukki. He can also be an ass like Tsukki lol My little girl was small for her age. When she was 8, she looked like 6 lol The similarities - both Hinata and my little girl were smaller and looked younger - early stages, Hinata likes to spike, my little girl likes to smash - both didn't know how to serve well in their first tournament. - both got a coach who teaches them at their backyard in the rurals. - both are known to be fast in the match and had opponents just standing there after their quick spike/smash (prefecture level for my girl) - both caught the attention from other players because they were small and fast. She was the only 8 yr old in the tournament against 11, 12 yr olds. She became the champion after that each year until she was 12. The highest level she'd gotten was 3rd at state level. Her "prefecture " wasn't that competitive but the state level was. Being 3rd was good enough for us 👍

I remember back in early Season 1, the Aoba Johsai kids Kindaichi (turnip head) & Kunimi were on this road talking about Karasuno being a flightless bird or something like that. They bumped into Tanaka with Tsukki & Yamaguchi on his side. Tanaka would be giving that "I'm gonna fight cha!" attitude as usual but Tsukki was actually looking like he was part of Tanaka's gang there cause he too didn't like what they were saying about their team. Then, Daichi came. Tsukki saw that and smoothly left the scene before he also got caught by him like Tanaka was hahahah.

His name in Japanese is 黒尾, so 黒 it reads as "Kuro" (black) and 尾 that is "O" (tail) so his name in fact has 2 "o" but they are not read as the english sound "oo" it's 2 separate "o" (like the O in October) so you kind of extend the letter, it's kinda difficult to explain because there isn't any similar sound in english, but the closest way you can pronounce it is "Kooroh" 😅

I noticed that Asahi flips from being too timid/nervous/negative to assertive/takes up the challenge and passionate. Although both can be true, Asahi doesn’t have that much reason to be too emotionally wimpy when he has a more mature/manly built, he purposely want to make himself look “wild” by sporting a man bun and he is actually strong - he is a power striker. He also seemed to have made good friends that accept him as he is (the guys in the team at least) Usually, that’s enough for someone to be a bit more assertive or a bit more confident about themselves. So yeah, I think maybe that’s what Cannon was trying to say? I like Asahi but I was just sharing that ‘huh maybe this is what boggles Cannon about Asahi’. Suga and Daichi keeps reminding Asahi to be more confident. It’s probably just what some viewers would do too if they have a teammate like Asahi bec people will be like, what the frick dude lol

So why not give Kageyama a few pointers as well when they were teammates? I understand his complexity. I know he has personal struggles, but that just rubbed me the wrong way when he almost hit Kageyama for asking for help. I know he was going through a lot of inner demons, but if Iwaizumi hadn't stopped him he would have hit Kageyama. But this is just my opinion and how I feel. Personally, I like Iwaizumi's character because he seems to help keep Oikawa in check and they have a solid friendship.

If you think its just because of the competition I don't think that you fully understand the complexity of his character... his rivalry with Kags is rooted in several deep-seated personal struggles, including pride, jealousy, and insecurity. Also, Brig loving the side characters more than the Karasuno guys makes me happy as someone who usually has a side character as a favorite lol. Hinata is my second favorite tho after Oikawa. 2024-10-03 19:49:53 +0000 UTCLol. Loved the intro and outro! So, Ashahi isn't in my top favorites. I don't dislike him, but his character never stood out to me. He's a powerful spiker though. Characters in my top aside from Karasuno are 1) Kuroo 2) Bokuto 3) Kenma 4) Iwaizumi 5) Lev I would say my least favorite would be Oikawa (Sorry, Brig and all other Oikawa fans). He's a good player, but I feel like he had a chance to be a mentor to Kageyama and he didn't. I know he saw him as competition, but after seeing Kuroo and Bokuto helping Tsukki and Hinata I just feel like Oikawa could have done that. Especially since he's such a leader to his current teammates. Looking forward to the next set of reactions.

My top 3 in Karasuno would be Kageyama, Tsukishima and Nishinoya. My top 3 outside of Karasuno are Oikawa (might be my favourite character overall), Bokuto and Kuroo :)

He does his job he, which is to score points. He gets a passing grade. But the others always go beyond. His charatcer is kinda bland compared to the others. My least favorite is definitely Hinata.

There's videos of people recreating it on Youtube but it's like those Basketball trick shots where they fail multiple times until they get one right. You just can't be as accurate as Kageyama IRL. But yeah this is still a show, so it's cool. Basically, if we compare this to basketball, Kageyama was able to have 100% accuracy everytime he shoots from any distance (yeah, I'm referencing that show). Now, he's doing the same thing but the ball is doing curves in mid air, yeah, it's bullshit, but the first scenario, while more realistic, was still bullshit.
