TFP

Photographer: @caughtalivemedia

This is a general post. This post does not involve the photographer who took these photos.

I just want to bring up that when photographers reach out asking to shoot TFP (trade for photos), especially if the project involves nudity or something as intimate as body painting, I approach those requests with a lot of thought. That kind of work requires trust, time, and energy—and it’s not something I agree to without fair compensation. I recently had a photographer message me that he'd like me to come to his studio for 3 hours for a TFP shoot involving body painting. It’s a bit like walking into an art store and expecting to walk out with a free canvas. My body is not a free canvas.

I do say yes to TFP collaborations, but I’m pretty selective. My time, my energy, and my body all hold value, and I want that value to be respected.

I’m not here to give away free labor...I’m here to create art through honest, mutual collaboration with those who understand and honor the work that goes into it. Modeling is a craft, not a favor.

Some might see these boundaries as difficult or demanding. I don’t. I’ve been in this industry long enough to know the difference between being generous and being taken advantage of.

It also makes no sense to compare me to other models limits... For me, asking to be paid is not about ego. It’s about honoring my worth after years of navigating situations that didn’t. And now, I know what I will accept, and what I won't.
